Ah DAW who's competing with independent DataFlex consultants.. that's a great long term strategy.
What could possibly go wrong with that?

(and no I don't have the time to help out Jesmond)

Hi Wil, we are not looking for more consultancy jobs via the Forum. If we take on consultancy, it is on behalf (upon request) of existing DataFlex developers, either for them selves, or for their customers.

For our own end-user customers we sometimes hire independent developers. And typically, they do not have the capacity :-)

And even for our own DataFlex products (like Halifax, see www.halifax-software.com) we have tried to team up with DataFlex developers to provide it in their own country/region. Again, with no luck - everybody is busy.

We do inform partners in the country of the person who seeks help, and they do the same as us: try to find a suitable partner, or if they cannot find one try to help them, themselves.

Last but not least: of course anyone can reply to any post on the Forum. I see that Nils reacted, meaning this person will be in good hands.

Strategy at DAE has been, and will be for future: We need _more_ DataFlex developers. If we must choose between taking on consultancy work directly, or letting another DataFlex developer take it on, the latter prevails.

Thanks Nick for the elaborate reply.

Beware that a reply like the one above which I replied towards is highly suggestive that DAW directly competes with their independent developer community. I can guarantee that I wasn't the only developer reading it like that either.
This is the type of message that gets you less developers.. not more. ..

Not 100% sure that your reply takes the "damage done" away.
