Different color setting for whitespace

I love the dark theme for the studio. The one thing I'm currently missing is a seperate setting for the font color of white space. I know this sounds weird but hear me out:
I like to display the whitespace ("Ctrl+alt+T") in the editor, but the dots that now appear are to "bright", too much contrast. I would like to set the color of the "whitespace" (or their replacement).
