Default Re: Report Developer API and OCX control

The OCX can be used in all languages that support COM.
No it can not. There is a huge dependency on code which only exists in the Dataflex Classes, and which is in turn is dependent on the runtime. All of the screen and printer handling methods in the cDRReport class, so much stuff that is predicated on having the runtime available.

Maybe DAW could get a demo app up in c# or VB or Delphi, but I don't think they could reasonably justify the spend. As I see it DAW has two choices.

    1. Make a demo app in c# that opens, previews, and prints a set of reports.
    2. Fix all their marketing material to clear up that DR is only supported as a stand alone query tool, or as an integrated component of DF

In no way can I accept the premise that DR is functional in any other environment.
