A few things to keep in mind about AV...


  • No, not all AV systems see problems and yes, sometimes an update to any specific AV can cause issues where none were before (and then further updates make them go away, etc. etc.)
  • The way the new linker works is suspicious to some AV systems, but that only happens during development, not deployment
  • Most AVs take a dim view of unsigned executables - but you should never deploy unsigned executable anyway
  • Always report false positives to your AV provider
  • You can use VirusTotal to test executables (signed or not) to see how the current AV world reacts
  • As Dennis mentioned, you can exclude your development environment from real-time scanning and then just on-demand scan before deploying (after you've codesigned, of course )
