I note in the above section has been trimmed in the Installation and Environment Guide for DataFlex 19.1. While I appreciate support can only be provided for those Microsoft’s Windows operating systems it supports the ‘haircut’ does seem to be excessive. E.g. For Windows 8.1 and Window Server 2012 R2 mainstream support has ended but the extended support, which covers bug fixes and patches, continues well into 2023.

Windows Server 2012 R2 is still used by many of our clients. A client upgrading a desktop OS isn’t usually a challenge but to upgrade their server OS is. It is not a cheap exercise, usually involves upgrading infrastructure such as hardware, but also requires a considerable amount of time planning and organisation.

Therefore, my question is why has Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 been dropped from the supported list for DataFlex 19.1?
