Default Documentation of cFileSystem Class on VDF GUIdance

According to the instructions on VDF GUIdance, cFileSystem should contain a .chm helpfile with examples and all methods carefully documented.

I downloaded it and there is a help.chm file, but only with a content tree and headlines. I cannot find any examples or explainations there.

    Hello Bengt,

    That's just Microsoft being helpful.
Because you downloaded it from the internet they decided that it might be malicious and so block any active elements by default.
You can disable that in windows explorer.
Right click the file and select "Unblock" from the options in the file properties dialog.
After that it should work as expected.

    Hi Wil,

I recently heard that whenever a chm file is now on a network share this "unblocking" doesn't help anymore (where as it did in the past).
    Can you confirm this?

    Hello Hans,

    Sorry I don't know.

Putting your CHM on a network is yet another form of making things painful for yourself.
When I just put the forementioned chm file on a network share, then it shows the same behavior as above.
AFAICR there's a registry setting you can use to enable chm functionality on a network share, but I'm not in the market for enabling that.

    Thanks., That worked.
Microsoft are funny. No warning, just block it so i doesn't work.

Actually they've been blocking .chm help files on networks for years. It used to be that a registry change had to be made to see them
