Because DISD has historically been a developer driven conference I want to send out a plea to any developers that are planning to attend to consider doing a presentation. Our conference is very impromptu and presentations can be simple and even just "show us your cool code" thing. So if you have something cool to show off and wow us or if it's not wow please consider becoming a presenter.

Not sure it it would be useful to anybody, but I built a formula builder module for the varying needs of my customers, so they can customize the substance of their statistics. It allowed me to deploy a large application to a wide audience that although they do similar work they often have different ideas of what statistics are being requested of them.

I am interested. What does it do?

Does it provide a ui for building formulas? Is it for web or windows?

At the moment I am developing a statistics module for a new app so I'm looking for inspiration.

    Hi Sture.

I had a situation where a lot of public funded organisations use my product and are required to report various statistics to their funders. (Domestic Violence Shelters).. Anyway often they would interpret a statistical requirement differently or have different ways that they deliver the service from each other, so I basically developed the software so that it automatically tracks every conceivable statistic on their entry and then they get to cherry pick what stats they choose to report. From time to time their funding source may change what they want in stats so they just adjust their formula to suit what that means to them.

Here is the manual (if you can find inspiration in a manual )
    https://www.graspsoftwarecorp.com/gs...lder3.5.02.pdf

It isn't uncommon for the detailed stats report to be 1500 pages or more, but because they have built formulas, they can often print a stats report by formulas and it boils it down the the 3 or 4 or 5 pages that they report to their funders.

Its also an older video, but you can kind of get the idea of the flow in this video:

Of course there is the whole printing part, but these just talk about building the formula.

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for sharing. I see how it works and it looks very efficient.

I'm doing web on 19 so I think I will try something with cWebFloatingPanel's popping up to assist the formula-entering.

Well if others think that they would find it useful, I would be happy to share.
