Yes, via its web interface where you can issue JSON or SOAP calls.

I'm not sure whether they have tried calling via the web interface from the web server. Will find out. Problem is it's run by a different mob in the Philippines.

Using host name - one of the network guys wrote a quick VB program to issue the same call and it works when the server cannot connect.

At first the error is Response: Null ie. not getting anything back from the web service.

Then just yesterday, it changed to a timeout error - not sure why the message changed.

The network guy tried tracing the call - he said he could see the call but it's somehow not reaching the web service at all as I can see on the web application administrator that it's not receiving any client messages.
