All is fine in dbBuilder. It saved the definition no questions asked.
But when I save "200912081136.3" into the field, it saves it as "200912081136.299990"

I thought it might be something that I was doing in our application.
So I tried it in dbExplorer. Same thing happened.

So then I tried it in the Order Entry Example and the same thing.
Using dbExplorer: "123456789112.123456" goes to "123456789112.123460"

Looking at the help it should work as I intended it to be.

Is there any reason for this or is the help incorrect?

    from the Help (VDF14.1):
I just tried this in the 14.1 OE example. Works perfectly. Only difference is that I created the field in Table Explorer (Dennis will be proud;-). Pics attached. The shots of the view are after saving & then refinding the record.

????? Maybe something you've done with masking? If the mask has only 12.5 characters I think it might do what you're seeing.
