One of the problems we've run into is that our graphic designer often creates high color PNG file (with alpha channel) for us to use in our program. Those graphics are mainly used for

  1. Toolbar buttons
  2. Splash screens
  3. Bitmap on buttons
I then have to tell him to convert that to BMP, but then the alpha channel got all blended in with whatever background color he has in the program at the time of the conversion. Long story short, please look into supporting JPG/PNG/GIF in native controls.

Also, is there any plan on supporting animated gif? This is mainly for status panel and stuff like that.
