1. We do not (and have not) as a matter of habit or policy delete
messages such as these, so I'm really not sure from where your concern
arises.

2. Many developers offer other developers training, consulting and
products related to their use of Data Access Worldwide products through
responses in these newsgroups. We have always supported this kind of
interaction.

3. Of course, nobody wants responses in general (from anyone, including
us) to turn into nothing but an advertisement hawking a product or
service, but as long as the offer was helpful within the context of the
request in the post (as this was), there is certainly nothing wrong. In
the many years we have hosted these newsgroups (and before them, the
CompuServ forums and Data Access BBS) we have had less than a handful of
time where we asked a developer to "tone it down" when it came to
posting "ads".
