  1. Re: DF 19.1 BUG - Issue with Debugger chaning executon workflow

We all bumped our heads into the "put a expression in the watches window that came back and bit us" scenario.

Perhaps a workaround would be for the watches window to not save your expressions...
  2. Re: DF 19.1 BUG - Issue with Debugger chaning executon workflow

This is very hard to fix.
It should detect that you are in a object creation state and then blacklist functions that are not in the current object from being evaluated.

    There's a ton of other...
  3. Re: DF 19.1 BUG - Issue with Debugger chaning executon workflow

A watch is only evaluated if the debugger is paused.

  4. Re: DF 19.1 BUG - Issue with Debugger chaning executon workflow

Unfortunately that's not how watches work.

A watch will ask the debuggee for data and if it is not a property, but a function then that function will be executed.
A function can change data. ...
  5. Re: DF 19.1 BUG - Issue with Debugger chaning executon workflow

    Good thinking.
That never occurred to me, that could indeed explain what happened.

  6. Re: Windows API wrappers and the state of brokenness

    Dave,

I wasn't reading it as a cry for help, but you did complain about why your code did not work.

    Use Windows.pkg
    Use CharTranslate.pkg

  8. Re: Windows API wrappers and the state of brokenness

    Dave,

Why are you using a "Utf8ToAnsi" function, you normally would not use that for unicode.
For the DF2020 code you should have separate widechar external_function declarations for the...

Re: cJsonObject "Member" method not working

    Todd,

Not 100% sure why you get that error, but you _are_ messing with initialisation during the object initialisation, so it isn't completely unexpected.
The main thing that surprises me that it...
  10. Re: IE embedded browser control and Microsoft Edge

Pretty much this. The Browser control is used by a lot of applications and is part of the operating system.
So it won't go away. Besides that Microsoft is pretty good about backwards compatibility....

    Re: VDFQuery Win7 to Win10

Nope, sorry to be blunt about this, but the root of your issue with this is that you are trying to use VDF12.x on Windows 10.
VDF12 was released in 2007, two years before Windows 7 was released. You...

Agreed, glad to find out that only a day of history was lost and from the looks of it all is back to normal.

Great job on getting it all back up and running again!

    Nick,

Welcome, you just reached the advanced level for DataFlex

Joking aside, this is a long long time issue and is never going to be fixed AFAICT.
It is inherently part on how things...

Re: Resetting (or clearing) a view of all data?

Comm'on, you are correct, but Samuel is just trying to help.

So I think it would be better to actually show the correct method, as it is not obvious to understand it from talking when you are just...
  19. Re: DF19.1 - Invalid view object passed with WebRegisterPath

    Samuel,

I've got a DB2 server somewhere (would have to go search), but you're single stepping is not that far in the webapp that it matters. No tables are open yet.
Can you email the webapp to...
  20. Re: DF19.1 - Invalid view object passed with WebRegisterPath

    Samuel,

Ok missed the forest for the trees :)

Right.. still not seeing that when trying to reproduce.

I created a mobile webapp in DF19.0 and changed the standard boiler plate to this:
  21. Re: DF19.1 - Invalid view object passed with WebRegisterPath

    Samuel,

    I'm not really following...

End_Object _is_ supposed to send end_construct_object, that's because .. well.. it's at the end of defining/constructing your object.

    Your screenshots...
  22. Re: DF19.1 - Invalid view object passed with WebRegisterPath

    Samuel,

Tried to reproduce with WebOrderMobile for you as well, but down there the example code in WebApp.src looks like this:

  24. Re: DFRefactor 20190426: Reindent function mess up my file

    Hi Dave,

I think we miss context in two ways.
First I am not completely clear as what part you think is wrong.
Second, the extra indenting on the code block is because of the rest of the source....

    Re: Clearing constraints

    Not read my link eh?

I mean that your "CONTAINS" constraint might be treated as a "Constrain As" and in that case it makes perfect sense that your code does not work.
