    Re: Custom font

Might be - dunno. Just to be a PITA - the why doesn't really matter to us - it's what the customer wants & has come to expect in report output.

    That other tool has it:

    Re: Custom font

Sorry to disagree Vincent, but the simple answer is "If the customer requests it, we need to supply it".

Lawyers are a picky group - after all, it's what they are paid to be. Another developer &...

    Re: Custom font

While by no means ideal - or even good, what I did on a report that required justification and some words bolded (a contract also) was to put it in Word, get it looking the way I wanted & make an...
  4. Re: OT: False Positives - Symantec Endpoint Protection

I've never liked Symantec for this exact reason + they won't listen to reason when you tell them your issues.

    Re: Key field State

    Thanks Michael -

This is a horribly designed view - well, parts system in general. You have to find a child, then go from there to the parent so you can create a new child. The entire parts...

    Key field State

    Hi -

I don't believe the DF version matters - though it's most likely always been this way.

With it true, if you try to save the record after changing it, you get an error msg. OK - good. ...

Re: Details on Mertech INT Files

    Mertech? Docs? :)

Mertech.chm (in their folder under Program Files (x86)) has a table listing int lines with a brief description. The line info & description are cut off on the left so it's a...

Re: Details on Mertech INT Files

Thanks for the bump - I'll admit I spaced it.

Both are optional according to Marcello.
  9. Re: How to invoke a selection list focusing a code from another column

piUpdateColumn tells the SL what column to return for the value.

If need to do processing depending on what values are, I'd think doing it in Procedure Prompt, after the Forward Send would be the...
  10. Re: How to invoke a selection list focusing a code from another column

Take a look at SeedData in the help - maybe that'll help?
  11. Re: How to invoke a selection list focusing a code from another column

    Try:

Set pbAutoSeed of hPrompt to True
  12. Re: How to invoke a selection list focusing a code from another column

It's a different table? Then this:

    Procedure Prompt_Callback Handle hPrompt
Set peUpdateMode of hPrompt to umPromptValue //required for lookups that are from...
  13. Re: How to invoke a selection list focusing a code from another column

    In Prompt_Callback, set these:

Set piUpdateColumn of hPrompt to 0 //0 based col. #s - so this is the first column
    Set piInitialColumn of hPrompt to...
  14. Re: Studio bug: Change of Border_Style not visible

Ha! That's precisely what I did (after trying it in a real app) - even the same lookup. Great minds? :)
  15. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

Maybe adding cursing stuff will help? ;)

I haven't seen that error in many months - but now that I've said that - I'll get a ticket about it this afternoon.
  16. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

Now you're lucky enough to know! ;)
  17. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

This error rings a bell (& yes, I started salivating). I may be completely off-base, but I think it was a missing "SQL_CLOSE_CURSOR_STMT to hCursor"

I switched all embedded SQL to use functions...
  18. Re: Studio bug: Change of Border_Style not visible

I just tried this in 19.0 & the first 19.1 release.

I can confirm that it changes visually in 19.0, but does not in 19.1

    Re: FlexCOM: Import ActiveX Control

Over a not so speedy network in a real exe, it added between 5-10 seconds. Commenting out unused code dropped it to only an additional 2 or so.

Loads a lot quicker on my local SSD... :)

    Re: FlexCOM: Import ActiveX Control

It also affects program load time. When you have an exe that takes 30+ seconds to load, an extra 8 seconds just annoys users a little bit more... :)

    Re: Chilkat package splitter

    Hi Marco -

As much as I like Chilkat's DLL, I too have commented out code & found it to be a PITA to either add new functionality (AWS S3 bucket stuff uses a LOT of functions!) or deal with an...

Re: OT: Slow SQL on new server

    Thanks!

Meaning it should be checked? It should not be checked? My little brain is once again cornfuzzled.
  24. Re: Autofind same record after save routine?

Fair enough - but when you don't know the rules, it can seem random. A bit like being married maybe? :p
  25. Re: Autofind same record after save routine?

Just be aware that you need to thoroughly test this - as sometimes it filters down & sometimes it doesn't...
