    Re: Very slow application performance

    Hi Mike,
I haven't noticed this on a commercial basis but certainly have personally. If either my wife or I fail to install a Windoze update on our laptops the slowdown and odd behavior begins...

  8. Re: SQL SELECT - returning results of temporary column

Having another look at your original question, I would expect a simple ESQL statement to return your calculated answer. A few years back I created the following function for use with the DAW MSSQL...
  9. Re: SQL SELECT - returning results of temporary column

Sorry, missed the "temporary" part. You still haven't mentioned what db you're using so this could vary a bit but the concept would be the same.

    Select A, B, A*B as AB
    into #tmp_table
    from DOC...
  10. Re: SQL SELECT - returning results of temporary column

You can use Information_Schema in most databases to pull the column names directly from the database
  11. Re: SQL SELECT - returning results of temporary column

Actually the Mertech driver can return column names, you just need to use SQL_GET_COL_ATTRIBUTE with COLUMN_NAME. Not sure about the DAW driver, haven't had to do that yet.
  12. Re: SQL SELECT - returning results of temporary column

    Hi Jim,
I'm not sure what you're asking. The answer might depend on what database and what driver you're using. In general I always put query results into an array and return the array where I can...

    Re: DF-20.1 Stored Procedure Call

    Hi Martin,
I finally got back to this and your example does work. I have found one problem though, and it's that the same function call will not work without any arguments. I don't currently have...

    Re: Always on top

didn't know about that. Searching for "TopMostMixin" in the help didn't even turn that up and it doesn't appear to be used anywhere in the DF packages either. Must be one of those best kept...

Well that's why we keep all of those other people around isn't it? To keep reminding us of what we've forgotten?

    Re: DF-20.1 Stored Procedure Call

    Hi Martin,
At this point we aren't using Postgres stored procedures, only functions, so no rush on that. I've been calling the functions in all lower case because that's the way they are defined in...

    Always on top

I have two DF programs, one contains help for the other which is the main application. The customer wants the help program, a simple SDI, to always remain "on top" so that it doesn't get hidden...

    Re: Recnum table conversion

Hi Samuel, it looks as if you're right on that. The table is empty, no records since it's a reporting table so I thought that the recnums in the index wouldn't matter. I removed them from the...
