Delete large amount of data in SQL

Good article. I had the transaction log issue at one of my stops. A sort of DBA was cleaning up a database for deployment to a new customer installation and completely filled the hard drive with the...
  2. Re: Crystal reports XI on Pervasive V8 suddenly stopped working this morning.

It's bound the happen again. CRXI has been on life support since Windows 7. 400+ reports to DR or maybe the Flex2Crystal with the latest version of Crystal from SAP.

Windows Hello and Pin. And I think finger-print if you have a device. And use of Authenticator.
  4. Re: W3C and FIDO Alliance finalize password free logins

Microsoft recently removed passwords from their apps. Slowly moving to the future.

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

    Thanks Wil,

Of course we sub-classed your wrapper so it will be easy to take out our code after the update.

After a lot of user testing we went live with the browser yesterday.

    Thanks!

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

    Thanks Wil,

That's a very detailed explanation. It's not too late as we have not released our apps with the control. I'm going to take this advice and move the folder to TEMP and use just a single...

    Re: INT Files

Our developer must create a change script for all database changes. So when we have an issue of checked in INT not matching the database we look for and run the developer change script. These scripts...

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

    Wil,

After reading a bit on the MS GitHub forum and the other MS docs. I have now changed the folder to go down to the view and object level. So each instance of the web browser will at least have...

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

    Wil,
I'd be interested in the responses.

We have users that fire up the same app multiple times. We will be testing for any errors and I will let you know.

    Thanks !

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

    Wil,

Thanks. I've now changed to below. Wondering what happens if the user runs multiple instances of the same program?

    Procedure OnComCreate
    String sUserDataPath sProgram

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

Using that I get C:\Users\SomeUser\AppData\Roaming as the base folder path.

Do you see any issues with using this path?

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

In case it helps. This is what we are doing.

Re: MS Edge WebView2 ActiveX wrapper

Thanks Wil. My customer just bought a copy ( license #3?)

For the UserDataFolder you might want to clarify the Online help. It should be done in OnComCreate. OnCreate is too late.

    Re: Date and DateTime inconsistency

Using strings for Dates is one of the biggest problems I've seen with regional settings. Always use the date like 01/01/2001 instead of enclosing in a string. And of course DateSet overcomes these...

  22. Re: Preventing changes in DbCJGrid when pbEditable is True

You can also use Function CanEditColumn Integer iCol Returns Boolean And just always return FALSE.
  23. Re: Setting of Default value based on an Identity Column

This is the procedural save I mentioned. It's perfectly acceptable if you are comfortable with it. I'd still explore the database level option. Or add the save_main_file to your DD class.
  24. Re: Setting of Default value based on an Identity Column

I think you have few options here. Because Save is a re-entrant operation. I'd probably write a SQL trigger at the database level because that's where the identity is assigned. Or in DF code you...
