    DF19.0 to DF20.0 question

I've been pretty tied up all through the 19.1 release and never got to it (at all). I plan to start testing soon... Should I go 19.0 --> 19.1 ---> 20.0 OR 19.0 ---> 20.0 ?

    Any advice/gotchas?

    Agreed. That's why I use SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS.
  4. Re: OT: False Positives - Symantec Endpoint Protection

    Hi Michael

I was having the same problem. I use Setup Factory, and I resolved it by changing the compression setting on the Build Settings. Maybe it is something similar to what you are seeing.

  8. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

The error message looks similar (ie filename = null) but I don't think the circumstance is the same. The customer only has one instance running on their workstation. I also don't think that the...

Re: OT: Slow SQL on new server

    Thanks for the detail Wil

I have never done anything with VMs so am a bit blind to the other side, and (fortunately) left that problem with their IT person to resolve.

Re: OT: Slow SQL on new server

    Hi Chuck

I believe this was his answer, which seems to me to mean do not use Dynamic Memory. I do not have a virtual server to check this out, but it sounds like it is a simple selection in the...

Re: OT: Slow SQL on new server

hahaha... Actually not sure myself. I didn't see it, I just know that it was dreadfully slow and I guess he resolved it by changing that setting.

OT: Slow SQL on new server

In case anybody runs into this (most likely me at some future date):

I had a customer who upgraded their server today and the SQL (even outside of Dataflex) was painfully slow. A simple SELECT *...
  13. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

In my case the exe is always installed locally. Also the program doesn't crash it just can't reopen a file or get any of the 3attributes that are retrieved from the filelist

    Sent from my LM-Q910...
  14. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

I tried all weekend to reproduce this. I tried without SMB1 to a network share... I then wondered if it might have something to do with SSD drives but was still unable to find a way to reproduce...

  16. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

So I think that I have come up with a suitable workaround for now. Making use of the new Global functions that I put in my app and documented here:...
  17. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

I did have one place report it to me that had the same problem when running it from the server BUT the psDataPath was still referencing the network URL (ie UNC path). My unfounded but likely true...

    Hi Stephen... Yes I agree.

I was planning to build a test once I got back to Ontario and my main office (I am currently at my place in BC and have less resources here)... I am leaving on Tuesday...
  19. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

    Thanks Mike

My one customer where it is happening is interesting, because it is only happening on the Windows 10 workstations... and it only started about 3 or 4 weeks ago, which makes me think it...

  22. Re: Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT

    Hi Stephen

I agree about making assumptions. BUT.. The timing seems to match. I do not often Close and Open files in an active session (I'm not even sure why I am doing that), but the behavior...

  24. Close File, Open File DAW, THIS IS NOW URGENT
