    Re: Location(s) for DFConnid.ini?

    Thanks Vincent, you've pointed me in the right direction, I think.

    I have an existing system in production, to which filelist I have added a DB2 table created purely for experiment. Since then...

    Supplementary to my DB2 questions that I think falls into Martin M's remit.

    When the first connection is defined it appears in the first folder of the datapath, and seemingly cannot be edited? I...

  4. Re: Error: 75 Error Source = DB2_DRV.Login Can't open table. Connection ID not found.

    re location, I should have said...
    I moved DFConnId.ini from my production data path (which overlaps the test datapath) because it stopped all the live users getting into into our system.
    I'm...

    I had to move dfconnid from datapath to program.
  8. Error: 75 Error Source = DB2_DRV.Login Can't open table. Connection ID not found.

    What am I doing wrong?

    My program has a cConnection object

    DFConnid.ini contains

    [connection1]
    id=KF0
    driver=DB2_DRV

    Re: File DSN vs the others

    agreed. We use MSSQL for our accounts package so I've been in that bubble for a while. It isn't massively harder, just different.
    Anyway, those two CATALOG commands worked, so now to fire up DF...

    Re: File DSN vs the others

    yes to this. But I'm doing something wrong, I know it. we three here can't get our heads around the db2 root user not being allowed to create databases. Never thought I'd say MS was simpler, but here...

    Re: File DSN vs the others

    same subject, sorta.

    Anybody else have difficulty using the Windows 10 ODBC administrators to create DSNs? I get crashes EVERY time, 64 bit or 32 bit. I've tried both on a regular machine and on a...

    File DSN vs the others

    On a production system am I correct in saying File DSNs are the most appropriate? So that they can be in the server data pool and backed up?

    Or having said that, does everyone keep them in the...
