    Re: Microkernel error

    Bob,

This sounds like a Pervasive error - are they using PSQL?

    Re: testing SPLF

    Wim,

As Marco mentioned, check the Windows event logs on both PC 3 and PC 1 for an indication of what is happening. Once we see what the errors are we can dig deeper.
  3. Re: DF Install folder lost its permissions

    Garret,

There is nothing that DataFlex can do all by itself to change rights and shared status (unless you actually wrote a program in DF that used Windows APIs to set same).

    Re: is character mode free

    Mike,

Any time a scenario needs to include the term "happened to", or "come into the hands of" (and yours used both ) that should be your first clue that it's probably not going to fly....

    Re: is character mode free

No. Your license covers your use (under the terms of the license agreement) and does not extend to the work of others.

There seems to be a sort of "Hey, since this software is really old can we do...

    Re: is character mode free

Same answer for all revisions of Visual DataFlex and DataFlex - it can not be offered for download. As Michael mentioned, for non-commercial software it can be distributed with the DataFlex Personal...

Re: Permissions needed for DF Folder

    Wil,

With a network accessible client installation on a server the license files will be in Bin, not under ProgramData. For a local workstation installation, you are correct.

    Re: is character mode free

No, character mode is not free.
  9. Re: VDF6 - DFOLECLN.DLL Eval Has Expired!

My guess is a rights or pathing issue. I believe (and these are very old brain cells, so YMMV) that back in the VDF 6 days, FlexOLE was an add-on that had it's own licensing and that if it couldn't...

Re: Studio crashes when hitting F1

    Pieter,

I've never had that happen and i've tried a bunch of things myself but it always just works. Is there anything else you can notice about the conditions when it happens? Like number of...

Re: Studio crashes when hitting F1

    Pieter,

I don't recall seeing this behavior. Can you supply more information about the environment? Also, does the crash happen regardless of what part of the Studio has the focus when pressing F1?

    Re: Google Maps anyone?

    Jakob,

It seems to be functional on the iPad just fine - so it's not a generic Safari issue.

    Re: Google Maps anyone?

    Jakob,

Nice job! Just did a quick look around but I'm sure that other developers will find this very useful. Perhaps i could convince you to write up a blog about it...

    Re: Freeing memory

    Tom,

I wonder if this is a side-effect of moving to Visual Studio 2017, which might have changed the underlying behavior of C++ free (as mentioned in the other response).

    Fernando,

In dealing with another instance of this, we found that the inability for the installer to properly install the VS redistributables was the culprit and that once the operating system was...

    Re: Problem Installing 19.1 Studio

    Mike,

I also found a reference to a "universal C runtime prereq" that needs to be installed on older operating systems. Not sure if it will apply to you but it might be worth checking out...

    Re: Problem Installing 19.1 Studio

    Mike,

Did you install the x86 version as well, or just the x64? Make sure you install the x86 version (as dfedit40 is a 32-bit DLL).
  22. Re: Can I have the same WebApp running in both DF18.2 and DF19.1

You should't try to the same virtual name for both (think about it, how could that work?). Lets say your 18.2 version was www.something.com/rachael - set up the 19.1 version as...
  23. Re: Supported Operating System and Browser Environments

    Fernando,

There are no specific changes in the 19.1 installation that preclude itís use on either of the platforms you mention having issues with. We no longer test on those platforms, and since...
  24. Re: Question regarding functions for Harm Wiibier
