Thank you Marcia
It's been a week since release. Any ideas when these libraries will be converted for the release version? We are raring to get started.
Just tried..... the DF 23.0 versions of both utilities see DF 24.0 is installed and refuse to go further. We're on hold until both are migrated.
Should we use the DF2023 versions of these with the released version of DF2024?
That is the only option available on the DAW download page
Congrats! Thank you Harm. When released we will do this at AWS with our hosted mySQL latin-1 backend, Server 2022 Data Server Workspace o/s and 64-bit DF2024 clients. Here we go....
Great insight. Thank you both. What I didn't mention is that we have already worked many months with Server 2022 Data Center 64-bit AWS and DF 2023 to adapt our apps to all you stated and more. ...
We want to upgrade our large customers from DF19.1 to 2024 ASAP to get the power of 64-bit clients under our resource intensive BPs. We’d rather not do an earlier (than 2024) DF rev if 2024 is...
Thank you all for your input. What we found: Just before replacing a ton of struct based code and doing a significant rewrite with Peter’s great idea of using SQL Bulk Import, we looked closer at...
I’m curious what impact disabling all antivirus on the new server might have. Also I’d check the network protocols thoroughly.
Correction… (100,000 rows X 100 columns) means this struct can have up to 10M elements.
DF 19.1 Windows: We have a new process in development that reads CSV files into a fairly simple struct that can end up with close to 1M elements (100,000 rows X 100 columns). This is necessary to...
I have it working and it was as simple as reading the help. Imagine that. Help says:
Note:
You should always deactivate objects before destroying them. Active objects are objects that have...
Bob, what I (believe I) confirmed is that all child objects are destroyed when destroy is used
From a prior thread I am successfully creating a varying qty of dbforms with varying labels on a dbModalPanel (basically) using this snip from a prior forum thread (thank you Todd)

Excluding the \Programs folder is not ideal and it works.
Whew. On our Windows 2019 Servers, the EXE will not run if we are compiling across the network. I believe the TMP file is deleted quicker than on our standalone Win10 dev pc's where the EXE will run...
DF 19.1.56 worked great until MS auto-downloaded the newest antivirus pattern file this morning to multiple machines. Now at the end of all DF compiles the TMP and EXE files are deleted by MS...
DF 19.1 & mySQL 8.x. We find that 10 of our 90+tables have UNIQUE index(es) and no PRIMARY index. As we are also accessing these tables from .NET we need to adjust this. I see no way in...
We’ve successfully moved and stress tested our DF19.1 apps to DF23 64-bit with WS2019 servers and clients, both local and in AWS workspaces.
To avoid upgrade issues like this we long ago made it a standard practice to set all DF application desktop driver INT files as follows:
Use_Cache 0
Use_Cache_Expiration 0
That said and done,...
Thank you, one more question and for us it's big. Our customer has a ton of DF19.1 (DAW ANSI/ODBC drivers) desktop clients and it is quite daunting to move them all to DF2023 and new EXEs...
Thank you Bram and Marcia. Re the database conversion.....
We are using (AWS) mySQL backends set to latin1_general_ci collation and latin1 character set with local DF 19.1 ANSI ODBC drivers. Am...
Though the basics work I already see that using the DF19.1-compiled EXEs under DF2023 will not work as the Dataflex Graphics Library and RTF ToolBar add-ons change substantially between revisions. I...
I would appreciate feedback on how best to move our customer DF19.1 32-bit ANSI (odbc/mySQL) application suite to DF2023 64-bit UNICODE in stages. Here's our current plan:
1) Replace DF19.1...
Got it. We will wait. No Synergy, I would love to hear when this is ready. Perfect product timing! Thank you.
