    Re: Can't load DLL DFBTRDRV

The DataFlex 20.0 Studio and Database Builder are 64 bit. They will try to load the 64 bit driver. You can develop 32 bit applications, but with PSQL it will be hard when the Studio can't use the 64...

    Re: Can't load DLL DFBTRDRV

    Hi Dave,

In april I had an issue with the 64-bit version of the driver. I have checked it with Dependency Walker. Something went wrong with W64BTRV.DLL. I have solved it by installing a support...

Re: VDF Studio + SQL Server Connection

It looks like you didn't define a oConnection object.

    Object oConnection is a cConnection
    Use LoginEncryption.pkg
    Use DatabaseLoginDialog.dg

  4. Re: Embedded SQL to insert records into MariaDB / MySql

    Hi Marco,

It was rather simple. I needed to add this to the INT file:

    GENERATE_RECORD_ID_METHOD EXTERNAL

I tried to use the statement below, but it didn't work. I had put it in the...

    Hi Vincent,

Thanks for your response. I will look into it directly and come back with a response.
  6. Re: Embedded SQL to insert records into MariaDB / MySql

Actually DAW is looking into it. For us it is rather urgent. Hopefully they have a solution. I will keep you posted.
  7. Re: Embedded SQL to insert records into MariaDB / MySql

    Hi Marco,

At the moment we have an issue with the ODBC driver and existing RecNum tables in PostgreSQL. PostgreSQL generates the recnums and it works with the Mertech driver. With the ODBC we get...

    Re: DateTime arithmetic

In the past I ran into the same issue. I agree that it should work. At that time it was too unimportant to report it

    Re: PostgreSQL and recnum tables

We ran into the same problem with existing recnum tables in a PostgreSQL database with the ODBC driver. Is this already solved?

    Re: DemoFileUpload

This is solved with the updated version of DF 19.1 (19.1.58.159). See https://support.dataaccess.com/Forums/showthread.php?65102-New-DataFlex-2019-Build-19-1-58-is-released! I was using the original...

    Re: Extra License issue

    Hi Phil,

You can update the procedure Show_UserCount to see the used user count (Get_Current_User_Count). This can be helpful to track this down.

    DemoFileUpload

Today I tried to migrate a file upload module from DataFlex 19.0 to 19.1. I ran into trouble when I tried to upload files with special characters like "" in it. In a forum message I found the...

  14. Re: MS SQL Server connection from networked clients

The dfconnection uses the most recent client available. That's the reason that I install the ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server when possible.
  15. Re: MS SQL Server connection from networked clients

    But did you enable TCP/IP?
  16. Re: MS SQL Server connection from networked clients

    Hi Julie,

By default the setting in Protocols for MSSQLSERVER for TCP/IP is DISABLED. AT least this has to be enabled.

    Re: MSSQL Driver error

If this is true I would use the latest version of the ODBC driver: ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server.

    Re: field_default_value and cDBTextEdit

Somewhere on the forum I found a workaround from you. At least I am able to set the default value of a cDbTextEdit. But hopefully there will be a real solution.

    Re: NEXTGEN First Take (Alpha-2).

That's right, but my comment pointed to the external files. If you are using BOM characters for external files and an external party is expecting an ANSI file then things go wrong.

    Re: NEXTGEN First Take (Alpha-2).

I also don't know the answer, but a lot of external files will be in ANSI (or OEM) format. A BOM character is only useful when a file is supposed to be in UTF format (and when external parties are...

    Re: Deployment Problem

You need to install ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server on your PC's. This is probaly done. If you are using managed connections then the managed connection on your development PC is probably not available...
  24. Re: Looking for advice on reports customization

This is an OEM / ANSI issue. Using something like (ToANSI(sFileName)) should solve it.
