Sture drew my attention to this thread. As he mentions i wrote a mobile app for the Scanduc conference.
The front-end of the app is written in JavaScript using the JQuery Mobile framework.

Regarding point 1 and 2 I agree with you. There are issues, like extending the framework to do mobile apps, that I would consider much more important.

Pepe, the users that gives you problems can they login and query the database via 'SQL Server management Studio' or can't they login at all?
I have briefly tested VDF 16.1 (without webapp server) on Windows 8 beta.
