  1. Re: Studio bug: Change of Border_Style not visible

Ha! That's precisely what I did (after trying it in a real app) - even the same lookup. Great minds? :)
  2. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

Maybe adding cursing stuff will help? ;)

I haven't seen that error in many months - but now that I've said that - I'll get a ticket about it this afternoon.
  3. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

Now you're lucky enough to know! ;)
  4. Re: SQLSTATE: 42000 - StartTransaction failed:

This error rings a bell (& yes, I started salivating). I may be completely off-base, but I think it was a missing "SQL_CLOSE_CURSOR_STMT to hCursor"

I switched all embedded SQL to use functions...
  5. Re: Studio bug: Change of Border_Style not visible

I just tried this in 19.0 & the first 19.1 release.

I can confirm that it changes visually in 19.0, but does not in 19.1

    Re: FlexCOM: Import ActiveX Control

Over a not so speedy network in a real exe, it added between 5-10 seconds. Commenting out unused code dropped it to only an additional 2 or so.

Loads a lot quicker on my local SSD... :)

    Re: FlexCOM: Import ActiveX Control

It also affects program load time. When you have an exe that takes 30+ seconds to load, an extra 8 seconds just annoys users a little bit more... :)

    Re: Chilkat package splitter

    Hi Marco -

As much as I like Chilkat's DLL, I too have commented out code & found it to be a PITA to either add new functionality (AWS S3 bucket stuff uses a LOT of functions!) or deal with an...

Re: OT: Slow SQL on new server

    Thanks!

Meaning it should be checked? It should not be checked? My little brain is once again cornfuzzled.
  11. Re: Autofind same record after save routine?

Fair enough - but when you don't know the rules, it can seem random. A bit like being married maybe? :p
  12. Re: Autofind same record after save routine?

Just be aware that you need to thoroughly test this - as sometimes it filters down & sometimes it doesn't...
  13. Re: Multiselect Does Not Work on cDbCJGridPromptList

I have used this with good results - but not on more than a few hundred records:

  14. Re: DateTime operations and TimeSpan limitation

I don't remember the thread, but I brought this up several years ago. Seems non-intuitive to me, but I was told that it will always be positive & therefore a check for which date is earlier or later...
  15. Re: Multiselect Does Not Work on cDbCJGridPromptList

I sure wouldn't want to use it on that many records - I think it'd be very, very slow. Not only that, but cumbersome for the user as well I'd think.
  16. Re: How to enable Insert-mode on (db)Forms with Mask_Numeric_Window ?

I'll be interested to hear if there's an answer - this behavior has always annoyed me - as well as many users.

    Re: Table Relationships

I'd add a line to save the kid from Request_Save of the parent.

Saving the parent does not save the kid, but saving the kid saves the parent. "Saves travel up".
  20. Re: OT: List & Label 24 ... beware of this major pitfall.

I find it difficult to believe they don't have some way around this (but software has surprised me once or twice before...). Fairly common naming technique I'd think.
  21. Re: OT: List & Label 24 ... beware of this major pitfall.

MySQL doesn't like fields with # in them either. However, in MySQL you can put backtics around the field (the way you can use brackets in MS SQL) & it'll allow them. Does L&L have similar...

    Re: Table Relationships

I'd augment OnPostFind of the "parent" in the view - add code to find the equal "child".

    Re: Many to Many Relationship

I have several systems that are close to this: Customer, CustVeh - CustVeh being related to Customer by CustomerID. This is simple & straightforward & DF handles it with little or no coding.
