    OK, that's an idea - I'll take a look at it. :)

    Re: cCJGrid Behaviour

    Garret

Actually I stated that wrongly: I've tried it in OnEntry. Since you mention it, I'm going to try in OnEntering, but I suspect that I don't ever want to return True from that it would also...

    cCJGrid Behaviour

I am doing something a little unorthodox with a cCJGrid to meet a customer requirement.

They want to be able to enter quantities of Order Items for a given Product. An Item is a specific Product,...

    Forum isn't working quite right

Usually when I visit a sub-forum marked as having new items I have not yet read, once I have visited those and return to the top level of the forums, the sub-forum I have visited will be marked as...

Re: Workstations can't see the database

    Samuel

OK, that worked! :) Actually I didn't use the IP address; what I did was to replace the term in the Managed Connection: "ServerName\MSSqlInstanceName" (in this case ISW-OW-01\ORDERWISE")...

Re: Workstations can't see the database

    Samuel

If you look at the screenshot I posted, the first line in the PowerShell window shows me creating a System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnecton with $connstr. Now I didn't show it because I didn't...

Re: Workstations can't see the database

    Thanks Mike

I've already checked the TCP/IP configuration (listen on all, port 1433... not so sure about Dynamic Ports: 57102?). Firewall is letting all SQL traffic through (see my initial post:...

Re: Workstations can't see the database

Mike - the SQL Browser is running on the server... does it need to be running on the workstation?

Re: Workstations can't see the database

Given the error, it seems to me that the client stuff must all be there and working, but it fails to find the SQLServer instance, while the PowerShell rather clearly does.

    Workstations can't see the database

    Hi All

I have a program on the server connecting to an MSSQL instance. Works fine on the server, but from the workstation it fails to find the database.

The following screenshot shows both the...
  13. Re: How do I work out what field is causing the error

    Samuel

It is just diagnostic. I was - as my initial post indicated - frustrated that I couldn't track down the field/column causing the problem, becuse DF provides no insight into that layer of...

  15. Re: How do I work out what field is causing the error

    Hi Garret

Cracked it (but it took me a long time :().

I added the followng code into the DDO of the offending table (Orders in this case, but I think the code is generic):

  16. Re: How do I get the prompt button to always show?

    Garret

Yes, that's true. But the user expects that clicking on the down-arrow of a combo-item will trigger that, but of course it doesn't. That takes a second click.

    Like I said: not perfect,...

Hmm... better, but not yet ideal. :(

  18. Re: How do I get the prompt button to always show?

    Garret - Thanks! :)

I knew I'd seen that pbEditOnClick stuff somewhere, but I was looking in the column help, not the grid help.

Now to see if it works! ;)

  19. Re: How do I get the prompt button to always show?

You can see what I'm talking about in Order Entry:

Single-click (any number of times) on the Item ID cell in the Order Details grid. No prompt button.
Double-click in the cell and the...
  20. Re: How do I get the prompt button to always show?

    Also...

While Set pbShowNonActiveInPlaceButton to True means that combo buttons in grid cells are always shown, clicking on the down-arrow fails to cause the pull-down to trigger. It takes a...
  21. How do I get the prompt button to always show?

In a cDbCJGrid, I have a cDbCJGridColumn with a prompt (it is a grid of order details and the column is to select the product for a given order detail).

The prompt button does not show in the...

  24. How do I work out what field is causing the error

I have obviously done something stupid (no change there then! ;)) to break something that was previously working.

On trying to save a record I am getting "Error 14 - Please enter a number"... and...
  25. Re: LINK ERROR: UNABLE TO OPEN FILE when compiling WebApp

Sorry - my bad. :( Forgot we were talking about WebApps.

Instead try using WebApp Adminstraror to stop either that app or the entire service.
