Re: close everything DF on the machine

The client we did this for (Gerry Kubatska did a lot of this) has absolutely no sense of humor. With other clients we could've had some fun.

I forgot you were SDI - that could make it a bit more...

Re: close everything DF on the machine

I tried again while watching. Seems to work just fine. In the pic, there's a view with a lookup open on the screen & then the shutdown dialog pops up at the set time. It stayed up for the 30...

Re: close everything DF on the machine

I just tried it with a modaldialog up. While I wasn't here to watch it, when I got back to the confuser the app was shut down

Re: close everything DF on the machine

I had silent, but got a (loud) complaint from a manager who was working @ 4:00AM & was ticked about getting booted. So, I added the dialog with its own 30 second countdown. If the user does not...

Re: close everything DF on the machine

I use a timer that's already in the app to display the date & time. It calls a dialog that shuts the app down, but gives the user a chance to cancel.

Re: Delete large amount of data in SQL

While one can find DBAs for hire for MS SQL & DB2, Oracle, etc. (though I haven't checked for those 2) - finding one for MySQL is really tough & with all the config that can be done in MySQL, proper...

    Re: Looping through records

An option to consider is Clear_Retain_Parents. It's not in DF, but available here on the forum (from Peter Crook I believe). I use it in lots of places - as it clears the child, but retains parents...

YW! Good - a little past peak foliage. Been an odd fall with very warm temps - so there are some trees that are completely bare & some with a full set of green leaves.

Another display issue - same machine, same settings as above (3840x2160 250%). This time the lookup wizard - grid/list on the right:

  14. Re: Crystal reports XI on Pervasive V8 suddenly stopped working this morning.

I had a client running XI that had a similar issue about 6 months ago. Their IT would not back out any updates & I beat my head against the wall for about a month. Another update seemingly "fixed"...

    Re: 20.06.152 Table Explorer

I just noticed that in 19.1 it's the same size on this machine. On another, it's wide like yours.

I also see textboxes cut off in DBBuilder:

    20.06.152 Table Explorer

    Hi -

A minor annoyance, but either the grid isn't wide enough or the columns are too wide - so that when tab into or click on the last column, it scrolls the grid over. To add insult, it's 2...

    Re: 2 cDBGrid

I've never tried the 2 container method with changing them dynamically. I just make the containers the size I want & set 'em to anchors all.
