Kinda done it like this with the suggestionform. It is for plants, and there is only one 'kalanchoe laciniata' in de database, so I show that article and you can directly select it. But the...
  2. Re: Can you change the database on the fly?

wow, indeed it turns out that is not possible for functions.

Then I'd guess you have to do it the hard way, which really isn't that hard :-)
  3. Re: Can you change the database on the fly?

You can use: alter function databasename.dbo.functionname.
If the user rights are correct it should work.

    Re: Dfbtrdrv.int

Yeah, now you mention it: we had the CCH files in a different folder, so with a copy-paste they would not be copied.

    Re: Dfbtrdrv.int

It has been years since I worked with pervasive, but back then just a copy-paste would do. I do remember one situation where somehow a full path was used in the filelist, which needed to be fixed,...

    Re: cWebMenuButton Question

If you set the piMenuHeight to a value where it does not fit anymore, the menu should scroll, but to me it seems that having less items in the menu is the way to go.

    Re: (web) OnSetDisplayMetrics (?)

You could give the form a CSS class based on the value and then use 'margin-left' to give it the indentation you want. So you need to look into OnDefineCSSClass

    Re: CPU overflow situation

Ok, i've never seen that, but I guess it is possible yes. Normally, when there is an error in a query, it is sqlserver that takes up the CPU. Not webapp.exe.

    Re: CPU overflow situation

a lock does not cause CPU from webapp.exe to go up, at least not directly. If you expect a lock though, go to the database and type [exec sp_who2], look for the [blocked by] column.

    Re: complex ui design.

It certainly is interesting to see that it can be done this way and seems very doable.

    Re: Master Alias Error

Yeah, ok. You're right about that, apparently :-). I was kinda trying to say that you could consider not spending time in finding the problem, but in stead just remove the master/alias settings.

run it in debugger, when the error pops up you 'debug --> pause'. Scratch your nose, press F10, click away the error and there you are. Use the call stack or if you prefer, put the breakpoint and...

    Re: cJsonHttpTransfer

Almost always you'll get HTML back in stead of JSON. Mostly because error 404 or error 500, which shows you a HTML page.

Re: When a save is not a save

You could augment delete_main_file in the DD. I have used this idea in a few projects:

    Procedure Delete_Main_File
    Integer hFile
    Integer iFieldNumber

    Get...

    Re: Wierd WebService Error

The HTTP request failed error might be a timeout. AFAIK most programs do not wait more than 30 seconds for a reply from the webservice, so if it takes longer then that you'll get this error.

    Re: Wierd WebService Error

Most likely the batch file deletes something that currently is in the buffer. The DD or List do a re-find on the record that does not exist anymore and you end up with this error. It is probably...
  22. Re: Default Startup View Different For Level Of User?

    Hello Guy,

You put it in oWebapp (webapp.src) - I should have mentioned that. It automatically gets called, similar to an event. It is just to tell the webapp what handle to use for the default...
  23. Re: Default Startup View Different For Level Of User?

    You'd augment 'defaultView', say

    Function GetDefaultView Returns Handle
    Handle hoDefault
    Integer iRights

Get piUserRights of oSessionManager to iRights

    Re: Floating labels

Not sure I like it, any reason why you want it?

But I got tempted to give it a try with clientonfocus/blur and some selfmade CSS.
