Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your input.
First of all; DAW has had as policy for years now, to create one or two new releases a year, else it is a maintenance release. This should fit just fine with...
Thanks Samuel.
I agree it is very confusing. So do you like my idea or not?
Hi Samuel,
You are right in that it has always been that way. I don't think I have stated anything else, or if I have it was a mistake.
My simple suggestion is what I have used myself for years...
OK, I think I'll take that back.
It seems it was a bad suggestion to use the year as the major version value, as nor Stephen nor anybody else has made any comment(s) what so ever on the...
Stephen,
I have always been amazed by the split between what the product is called - e.g. "DataFlex 2021" and the main build version number. Why not just set the main build version to the same as...
Ah, i see. Good to hear you found a working solution.
Bob,
Nope, sorry. I haven't had the requirement for sibling directories - only Programs folder sub-directories.
Can't you persuade the IT-guy to use that instead? I mean, if you can't get it to...
Great stuff!
And I mean both your message and it's content :)
I totally agree.
Your first sentence about using full pathing was actually useful information on the subject.
I refrain to comment on your lack of imagination regarding the second statement.
That is simply not true. it works just fine on all Windows versions.
I have .manifest files with pathing in them at many, many customer sites and they all work great. I might add that at least it...
Good to hear you figured it out.
Have you embedded the .manifest file into the executable? If so you need to recompile. Else it should just work if you also moved the .dll to the new location, and provided the "Thirdparty" folder...
Hi Bob,
It is possible to keep the .dll's in another folder than the Programs folder were the program resides. My Manifest Studio doesn't support that directly so you need to do a little manual...
Yup, I think you nailed that one - it is both! :)
Wonderful Garret, thanks for that.
I just passed it on to my ex wife :)
Thanks Peter for the tip. I have missed a tool like this for some time. It seems like a good product so I bought a copy of the R-Studio :)
OK, good to hear I had understood your problem correctly.
I agree that DD code can be confusing, but as I said the code in red more clearly explains the intent of the programmer, I think.
...
Hi Michael,
Was I wrong in my assumption about the code is residing in a DD object?
Since you are not specifying any DDO for the "Send FindByRowId..." line, I assume this code resides within a DataDictionary object?
Correct? If my assumption is correct I would always use the...
Good to hear.
It is used in e.g. cStatuspanel.pkg and the "ProcessEvents" message. It is also used in cWinReport2.pkg. But as you indicate it is not documented.
Hi,
Have a try with "Send PumpMsgQueue of Desktop". That might do it.
