Re: path to the license files

What we do, as part of installing the runtime, is to go to %ProgramData%\Data Access Worldwide\DataFlex\<version>\License Files, and change the permissions on the DFR-file so users have Change...

  3. Re: Memory leak with chillkat, clientwebservice

    Hi,

Here is a hack you can try to find out which object is leaked.

    First add this:

    Procedure ShowObject for cObject
    Showln (SFormat("Object %1 (%2) not destroyed", Self,...

    Re: An abundance of unlocks

    Martin,

Something DF could help with here is to throw an error when the lock count goes negative. Today, if you have a extra unlock in a transaction block, the transaction will commit "in the...

Thanks, good to know there is another way around this.
  8. Re: Need help with Chinese and Korean Characters

    Hi,

Check the thread Dennis pointed to, it has the Chinese collate attached so you can try it. Let me know if you need a Korean collate, and I'll generate it for you.

    Re: Delete and clear

    Bob,

What we do is hook into Validate_Delete. If the user is not allowed to delete records, we throw an error "access denied", but you could just silently return an error and prevent deletes that...

    Macro buffer exceeded

    Hi,

I've started preparing our code for 19.1, and ran into error 4319: Macro buffer exceeded. We have a procedure with a large number of parameters, and it compiles and run fine in 19.0 but not in...

    Re: Dynamic pbScroll

    Harm,

Thanks. One idea for a work-around I just had is to create two lists, one with pbScroll True and one with False. Then we just show the applicable list.

    Dynamic pbScroll

    Hi,

We have some (static) lists where we want to set pbScroll depending on the amount of data, to optimize screen layout. If more than 5 records, pbScroll is True, otherwise pbScroll is False.

    Wrapper for 18.3

    Hi!

Can we get wrappers for 18.3 please?

(Usually we keep to the same version as bundled with DF, but we are running into bugs there that are fixed in newer versions).

Re: File streaming and SPLF does not work

Security wise, SPLF and ARR are the same. Only difference is which port and protocol they use to communicate between the servers.

Re: File streaming and SPLF does not work

    Hi Peter,

We use ARR (Application Request Routing) instead of SPLF. It's similar to SPLF but in IIS; you have one server in DMZ which routes the requests to servers in the LAN over HTTP(S). Since...

    Re: cwebList multi select

    Harm,

I'll just add a "me too" then, we've had multiple places where we needed a way to select multiple records in a weblist, and switched to a webgrid with a checkbox column.
  25. Re: How to lose the web-share-name-part of the a webapp url?

    Hi,

What we do is put an HTTP redirect in the root, via a Default.asp. Putting an HTML refresh is not ideal, it takes longer to redirect, and we prefer not to touch IIS settings when not needed.
