  1. Re: Terminal Server 2019 NOT Selecting Local Default Printer

    Thanks, All!

I don't think it was a driver compatibility issue, as all of the local redirected printers were NOT selecting properly.

Also, since I was having an issue with BasicReports, in...
  2. Re: Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

Workaround found - My network guy created a test TS2016 server, and the same default printer issues existed as on the TS2019 box.

After many failed attempts with changing various TS settings, he...

  4. Re: Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

    Thanks, Edgard.

I couldn't get your code to compile - hopefully I have some time later to work on it. In the mean time, my network folks are building a test TS2016 server to see if the problem...

    Thanks for the clarification, Michale!
  6. Re: Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

    Edgard,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure how I would eliminate the REDIRECT from TS, and I also wonder how other folks print through TS2019. Especially since printing works correctly when called...
  7. Terminal Server 2019 NOT Selecting Local Default Printer

    Group,

Please see the 09/15 Crystal Reports post about this issue. Although there's been many views, no solution yet. This all worked fine from TS 2008 and TS2012. Trying to upgrade to...
  8. Re: Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

    Vincent,

From more testing, apparently its NOT specific to Crystal Reports, as I have a BasicReport that also is NOT selecting the Default Redirected Local Printer. Even though the Default...
  9. Re: Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

Thanks, Vincent. The view just uses the cCrystal.pkg. I did try shortening the local printer name to "L1". Of course it becomes "L1 (redirected XXX)" in TS. So even though now just 19 characters,...
  10. Embedded DB, VDF 19.1, Crystal XI, Terminal Server 2019

    Group,

Obviously I know I should be on MSSQL, and move away from Crystal, but as many have said, with 100's of reports to rewrite, it's just not feasible.

We've been running a variety of VDF...

Thanks for the clarification! It's greatly appreciated.

  12. Re: Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

    Clive,

Thanks for the input! When you say "Network Install" for the Client License files, should they physically be located on the Terminal Server Drive (with local pathing, i.e. C:\VDF19\bin...,...
  13. Re: Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

    Garrett,

No worries. I should have stated up front about the Overlap problem.

    Thanks,

  14. Re: Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

    Sean,

Thanks so much for the detailed response!! No, only accessing databases from one Terminal Server.

  15. Re: Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

    Garrett,

I realize all of the 100's of Crystal Reports for the 2 applications have to point to the SQL DB. Because most original db's were created with overlaps, the reports have to be massaged to...
  16. Re: Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

    Garrett,

I know I should go to SQL, and had started in that direction, as we still have MS-SQL Server in-house from an old Microsoft Dynamics SL installation. I found that many of the Crystal...
  17. Definitive Way to Install VDF Embedded DB on Terminal Server

I've been scanning the forum trying to piece together the best way to install the VDF 19 Program, Apps & Embedded Database on Terminal Server 2016. I know from other threads, there's still some...

    Re: VDF 19 Broke View

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I was able to get it working again by sending Request_Assign to the Payment Header DD. It brought all of the created line items to the grid.

    One other thing I...

    VDF 19 Broke View

    All,

I recently recompiled all of my VDF 16 apps to VDF 19 and all seemed fine. One of the users showed me a view in the Billing Program that no longer works correctly. It's a Cash Payment...

  22. Re: Microsoft to remove SMB1 protocol - used by Wannacry - from Windows 10

    Group,

I know this is probably beating a dead horse, but I still need some clarification. My hardware consultant is talking about upgrading our server hardware after the first of the year (we're...

    Re: Collating Sequence - MSSQL 2008 R2

    Mike,

    Thanks for the clarification!

Since I always Uppercase all of my index fields, I'll use SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS to handle the dashes (-) as Embedded does.

    Take Care,

    Collating Sequence - MSSQL 2008 R2

    Mike Cooper, All,

I inadvertently posted this in the Crystal Forum too, as I stumbled upon a thread in that forum from Mike Cooper (11/02/2015) regarding collating with dashes in the index.

    On...

    Mike,

I just stumbled upon this thread, as I'm just now finally getting around to converting my DB's to MSSQL. On the one message you said:

From researching the forum and internet, I have come...
