  1. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

Sorry, I missed the "Server 2019" bit. It does seem there is something strange going on with this (rather) new OS.

I have it installed as a Vm-machine but haven't seen it there - but then there...
  2. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

DUF - "The Database Update Framework" uses both of these extensively and I'm pretty sure they are always retrieved from the Filelist.cfg.

In only one occasion (I think) Ive seen something similar...

  5. Re: Anyone interested - 2 values multiplied with result rounded up or down, plus more

OK, no worries. I took a new copy from the code above. Thanks.
  6. Re: Anyone interested - 2 values multiplied with result rounded up or down, plus more

    Done, thanks!
  7. Re: Anyone interested - 2 values multiplied with result rounded up or down, plus more

I bet there are developers that have use for it, but perhaps they just don't post a message about it.

I definitely see a use for it and have tucked it away in a "safe place" :)
  8. Re: Anyone interested - 2 values multiplied with result rounded up or down, plus more

    Thanks Rachael!

I'm with you Rachael. Have been doing the same thing for ages.
  10. Re: Forum extremely slow these days !?!?

Yup, I concur that the newsgroups were awfully slow yesterday but they are back at full speed today.

Re: The Sleep command or cTimer

On what DataFlex version are you on?

The one on the website is from 2014 and was made for 18.0, but I'm almost finished with an update for 19.1. You can send me an email through the newsgroups if...

    Re: New Database Column Issue

Hi there and welcome to the newsgroups.

Without knowing abut your environment I would guess that it might be due to a second version of the .fd file for that table. All .fd files should reside in...

Re: The Sleep command or cTimer

If you are worried about reliability, it might be a good idea to have a look at my "Windows Service Manager Utility". You can specify how often the server should check for activity with a property.

Re: The Sleep command or cTimer

    Hi Rachael,

    RE:Systray
I have only done this with the SigCodeJock classes and there is a sample how to do it in the SIG examples.

    Re: cFileSystem Lib

There is - in the DFRefactor project. It is using "cFilesystem" as a sub-library.
  17. Re: Do I need a service, or would something simpler suffice

    Hi Rachael,

I'm not sure if a service would be your best choice. However, if you decide to go down that path I suggest you have a look at my "Windows Services Manager"

  18. Re: DFRefractor, possibility to save settings

    Hi Bengt,

We'll make a note of this, but both Wil and I are very busy at the moment so it may take quite some time before it gets implemented. But thanks for the suggestion.
  19. Re: Removing field with structure_start/end stops

    Hi Roel,

I hope you meant you installed version 2.1.1 ? (not 1.2.1)

That is the latest on the website rdctools.com
  20. Re: what windows class is the dbForm control based off?

    Hi Pieter,

Thanks for the class. It looks really usable. I made a small addition/change to it. Why? Well, I thought it could be nice to be able to easily override the hint-text in an object - OR -...

  23. Re: Removing field with structure_start/end stops

    Hi,

Could you try DUF 2.0 (download from rdctools.com) and use teh "DUF Code Generator" to generate a snapshot of your development database and then run it on a test "customer" database?

    I have...

    Re: VDF Lint

    Well put Mike :)

I tend to do a little of both. At the start of functions/procedures I usually have a little error checking going on to see that e.g. passed parameters are reasonable. If not...

    Re: cjGrid and checkbox

I guess it depends on your other settings.

If you look at the DFRefactor grid(s) for instance, the current row used is of a rather dark green/grayish color and it is then kind of necessary to have...
