  1. Re: Suggestion, when Dataflex table'column expand more 255 field

    You probably need to be on a different backend like MSSQL
  2. Re: windows server external connector license (possibly OT)

    this thread may help
    https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/448771-licenses-required-for-public-facing-web-server-with-sql-backend

    basically if they login you probably need an ECL.

    Re: NotePad++ native DataFlex support

    I never thought to check that :rolleyes:

    okay, installed remotely to office PC and looks good, though I'll have to rebuild my compile script as it got lost during yesterday's stuff.

    Will...

    crypt/ccrypt

    Is there a like-for-like substitution for the crypt or ccrypt packages within this expanded range of functions?

    Re: NotePad++ native DataFlex support

    didn't really investigate very far, once I broke it I stopped; but most of my plugins failed with this or a similar message: I haven't checked to see if all these plugins got updated for 7.7 (which I...

    Re: NotePad++ native DataFlex support

    trying it now. It doesn't much like some of the plugins I use, including the plugin manager itself, and most importantly NPPExec which I have to use to compile charmode stuff. :(

    Re: 19.1 help Set_Date_Attribute

    not tested recently. I'll have a look. There really aren't very many places where they enter dates. Almost everything uses the system date.

    Thanks Vincent.

    Re: 19.1 help Set_Date_Attribute

    Thanks all, sometimes a fruitless search is because there's no fruit. :cool:

    I suppose my follow-up question is "are they needed?" I think we are 4-digit throughout since 1999.
  9. Re: I bet this program doesn't do what you thing it does.

    rats, I've missed so many parties over the last year. :D would have been a good version number for the last 32-bit though.

    Re: Studio "what does this do" question

    +1 Sort of on the same topic, but I've asked before for something that functions like '//TODO:' so I can put notes in code, rather than todos . This would be perfect, especially if they could be...
  11. Re: I bet this program doesn't do what you thing it does.

    19.99 as in "random project name" or as in "we're gonna party like"? :cool:
  12. Re: I bet this program doesn't do what you thing it does.

    Harm's single paragraph :
    When comparing to strings in the expression evaluator it basically fills out the shortest string with spaces until it has the same length as the longest string. Then it...

    Re: Studio "what does this do" question

    Oh that would be useful in windows DF. It might persuade my team (and me) that if a func/proc needs more than one sentence of description it needs a very critical eye.

    Re: 19.1 help Set_Date_Attribute

    In fact I can't find any replacement for these in the help, and I can't think why there would be. I assume the two date4_states are true automatically, but surely the epoch is also redundant? In...

    19.1 help Set_Date_Attribute

    Still sanitising 19.0 code for 19.1

    19.1 warns against the use of Set_Date_Attribute and says use Set_Attribute DF_DATE_FORMAT instead.

    As there are so few possibilities for Set_Date_Attribute...

    Re: YAFR: Studio Database Login Dialog

    +1, that or the connid/server name not being read-only. I suppose a popup is less open to accidental misuse.

  20. Re: I bet this program doesn't do what you thing it does.

    bump.

    Interesting stuff.

    What logic is built into the 'Set' class?

    If I'm happily stuffing strings in there what might break it?

    Re: DFRefactoring Log file

    I get it, but in a mass-compile situation I at least tend to only do one refactor at a time. All-in refactoring for me is one source at a time.

    YMMV obviously.

    Re: DFRefactoring Log file

    I think its still useful on a workspace, though maybe it should be condensed dramatically..

    c:\dev\KApps191\Appsrc\file.src
    removed 96 variables
    c:\dev\KApps191\Appsrc\file2.src

    Re: Compile Finished with Warnings

    it did, too.
    I spent an hour or so muddling along but couldn't get my variation working. Part of my problem, no doubt, being that warnings were suppressed :)
    Thanks for this, anyway.
