    Re: Showing Progress

    Mike,

I did a progress dialog for our WebApp. It worked fine, but was a bit overkill and in the end we went back to just a "spinning wheel" and moved the long running processes to a scheduled task...
  2. Re: DF 19.1 - recreating a webmogile project, overwrites previous application.css file

    Harm,

For us this is non-issue, since we would see the change in git and fix it. Everyone uses some version control system, right? =)

But, my preferred solution would be for Dataflex to check...
  3. Re: WebApp Improvements in Technology Preview 2

    Harm,

It's nice that this part of the WebApp server gets some attention, it's needed. =)

Some problems we had over the years, that I hope you might look into as part of this:

    We have some...

Re: Struct Padding - Example 2

    Russell,

You could use a fixed length array, but more common is a pointer to a string. The string would either be zero terminated, or required an additional length field in the struct.

    Re: cWebEdit removes characters?

Converting to an array is unneccesary, just using Replaces is enough:

    Move (Replaces(C_LF, sString, C_CR + C_LF)) to sString
  6. Re: Make sure cache is cleared on new version of webapp

Use the browser debugger to see which file it is actually requesting and getting a 404 for.

An ugly kludge, but if you load the CSS (with versioning) yourself, before loading DR, it should...
  7. Re: Make sure cache is cleared on new version of webapp

We don't use Dataflex Reports, no. But it sounds weird that the versioning should cause a 404, I'd suspect something else.

    Re: Macro buffer exceeded

For this function, I don't think structs were even part of the language when it was created. Even if they were, that would just have been an ugly kludge.

For the other function, the whole point of...

    Macro buffer exceeded

    Hi,

I just did a test compile of one of our applications (knowing it would not work yet), and got a "macro buffer exceeded" error. We've hit this before in 19.0 when we have procedures with very...
  11. Re: Export data (Database Explorer) not working

    Vincent,

I believe I've reported this (or something similar) a long time ago, so I rechecked with 19.0.

First, whenever I select File -> Export data, I get an error 4358 from...
  12. Re: Make sure cache is cleared on new version of webapp

We do something similar, but with only DataFlex code. We use the Windows API for the MD5 calculations, and we have a utility application which contains the needed code to call this.
  13. Re: Make sure cache is cleared on new version of webapp

    Albin,

You need to set sDfBuildNr before including df-include.js. We do this to make sure nothing is cached:

    var sDfBuildNr = "<%= oDFVersion.Call("get_DfBuildNr") %>";

    Re: Runtime Language

Not really. It's part of our larger translation system which is quite a lot of code. We rarely start new projects, but when we do we take an existing one and remove everything except our common...

    Re: Featoure Request

    Mike,

You can create a new sws file for this, in the same workspace as the existing one. It just needs it's own IdeSrc directory and ws file.

We do something similar since we have both desktop...
  16. Re: Feature request: NOT all your source is UTF-8

    +1.

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out the least painful way to migrate. Migrating will be a multi month process, and "normal" development will be happening at the same time. And...

    Re: 2020 Driver question

Wait, what!? Can you clarify this, because it sounds like you are basically saying the PSQL (Btrieve) driver is being obsoleted.

We're looking forward to 64-bit and Unicode, but we run exclusively...

    Re: Application speed

    Hi Leif,

The first thing to do is to find out why it's slow.

As others have said, you must have enough processes in the pool. That's easy to check, so I'll assume that's fine.

    You can use...

Re: String Array property to Javascript

It is however inconsistent with the naming of other variable types in DataFlex. =)

The "DataFlex way" is to prefix with the type, so this should go for arrays too. "iValue" for an Integer and...

    Hi Jakob,

Did you look into the Google Maps license? Because when we were looking at map services to integrate into our application, they only had two levels. Less then X uses per year was free,...
