Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

    Hi Jan,

This is a cool technique. Are you using this to keep track of hanging processes?

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

    Hi Mike,

Thank you a lot for the effort. I will try to implement this and see if it can be trusted.

Under the new "restart" stratey (DF20) do we "know" that the dataflex service will only...

    Hi Marco,

I think it's your first solution that Mike has just implemented, and I will probably go with for now and keep an eye on race conditions.

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

I am aware of it happinging 10 times a day on the days when the webapp is updated plus 1 because this app restarts automatically every night. And this will happen once for each application of which...

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

I want to record the excact state of the database (excluding data) automatically at every reasonable point. And in my case, that is everytime the app starts.

    We're moving in a "dynamic"...

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

    Thank you Michael and all,

Yes, a better solution is needed.

And "DataFlex server" informing the "first process" of the pool that it has been (re)started is the one robust solution I can think...

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

And also, I need to determine it right away. I can not wait until all the processes have started and _then_ compare their start times to determine which one was the first. :)

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

Thank you Mike, this was what I was thinking about

However, looking at it I do not immediately see how I can get the info I need. I was hoping for a 1, 2, 3, 4 process attribute.

    Suggestion:...

    Thank you guys,

I have spent a few un-enchanted evenings in recent weeks looking for differences in setup between systems that work and systems that don't. Updating existing webapps for that...

Am I the first webapp of the pool?

    Hi there,

I have a procedure that I want to execute every time a webapp starts. The snag is that I want it to execute only once, even if there are for example 4 processes in the minimum pool.

Re: Using your own user table in a WebApp

Yes, thank you Mike. It's valuable.

    Hi Boris,

Because a new security mechanism means that you must authorize expicitly all objects that are not visible on screen to actually get saved on request_save.

You can read about it here:...
  14. "Duplicate records", no specification of index

Does anybody know of a cure for this problem. The runtime errors on duplicate records but the information about which index was violated does not appear.

Is it because the information is not...
