Re: What MS SQL Client softwear do I need?

    The 32 bit C++ runtime?
That "it installs, so it must be right" is flawed logic. IMO it might just as well mean that the installer doesn't test the 32 bit requirements.

Btw, if the 64 bit ODBC...

Re: What MS SQL Client softwear do I need?

    Mike,

Did you install the 32 bit as well as the 64 bit versions of the C++ runtime? (The 64 bit does not install the 32 bit)

Re: What MS SQL Client softwear do I need?

    Hi,

    So you can connect: good

    ODBC administrator cannot connect: bad

That by itself tells me that the ODBC driver is still wonky.

FWIW: Correct you do not need SQL Browser services running...

    Mike,

re. Firewall issue. It is very unlikely for a windows firewall to block outgoing connections.
Then again, the admin might be me, or perhaps there's a firewall at the server?

Re: Setting an SQL identity column in the Studio

    Bob,

The Studio uses a file called mdspgsql_DriverDef.xml that is in your DataFlex Bin folder.
By default the DAW installer puts a very basic one in there that supports the very basic things...

Re: Unicode and ASCII vs. Text fields

    Raphael,

    What's the control?
Is this against a cWebForm or a cWebEdit?
If it is a cWebForm, does it help if you change the control to a cWebEdit?

Re: YAFR: Breakpoint on Watch Window Delta.

    Michael,

They're called watchpoints or sometimes also "Data Breakpoints" and I implemented this in dfSplat.

Sadly though my implementation is currently too slow to be practical. (You have to be...

Re: Am I the first webapp of the pool?

Certainly a possibility and it is simple, which is always good.

    Hi,

If the row is the active row then you work with the datadictionary, not the grid.
