    YAFR: dd_debug.dg

We do lots of security at the UI and database level. Tracking down an issue with a view and Read_Only_State of the DDO supposedly set, but it was still allowing saves. Lot's of debugging to find the...

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

That's almost exactly what I did. I copied the ocx's to Windows\SysWOW64 folder on the local PC and registered them and it works. In the meantime our IT guy found out that Trend (the AV) was somehow...

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

Now it's getting really weird. I created a non-silent version of the RegisterCodeJock.bat and when I run it from the Bin folder (shared) I get this error message. It just doesn't make sense because...

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

    Thanks Mike.

We were able to install the client locally. But we can't and don't ever want local installations from a support standpoint.

I'm going to follow up with your SMB idea. But we...

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

Thanks Stephen. Pretty much what I thought. And I'm at a loss why it's not working on these PC's. I've also eliminated anti-virus which normally is my first thought for something like this. But all...
  8. Re: Ok, Let's talk aboout Process Pooling

+1 Good thread. Yes tuning web apps is sort of hit/miss right now. I agree with Harm about combination with SQL Server. We don't typically run them both on the same machine, but there is a lot of...

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

I tried the mapped drive. But it still puts the UNC in the registry. Where does it get this from, the .dfr ?

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

Peter, I think it's just a typo in the DataFlex Workstation.exe It's registering the correct version as near as I can tell. There are no 16.3.1 versions in the registry.

    Re: Client install nightmare 18.2

    They are all using UNC.

I'll try the mapped drive route. But then I would have run the DataFlex Workstation.exe again from the mapped drive right?

Having a nightmare with 18.2 client install. I've done everything I can think to do. Customer has over 100 workstations on their network. DataFlex 18.2 has been working for years there. But they...

YAFR: CAST to work like T-SQL

It would nice if the DataFlex CAST could work like the MS T-SQL version

This returns the time of a DateTime (Cast ([MyTable].[DATE] AS TIME (7)))

I don't know any easy way to get this...

  21. Re: Aplication impact in changing column types from date to datetime

What version of SQL Server? Because MS has deprecated datetime. Moving forward you should probably use DateTime2. The default is DateTime2(7). But you could change it to DateTime2(3) to more...
