  1. Re: Ambiguous Function Clarification needed

    Wil,

While you are right that the wizards create the code it would be almost impossible to create a different unique name. You would need to scan CDS to see if a name already exists and then...
  2. Re: Ambiguous Function Clarification needed

    Raveen,

The GET syntax works good unless you made a programming error.

The expression syntax may result in an error when the datatypes cannot convert automatically or are incompatible.

    PS: I...

    Robbert,

I think I would look at the Next_Object function.

    Re: Won't start

    Bob,

My experience is that there is often no error, no condition to check and sometimes there is an error but pretty vague. Years ago I had a support call where the developer said the error was...

    Re: General Codejock question

    Dave,

As with every external source you need to do a lot of testing and discovery to find out if a newer version breaks functionality. Hopefully notes are good but you still need to check and test.
  6. Re: When opening view I want the focus on the second form of this screen if conditions are met, but nothing seems to work

    Robbert,

The ONE and ONLY solution does not really exist as there are several situations to respond to. Situations (events) like Clear/Clear_All, Save, Delete, Child wrapping, accelerator keys. So...
  7. Re: Ambiguous Function Clarification needed

    Chris,

In the past you did not get a warning and it was fully up to you to do it right. Following the "rule" that class members should be called with GET and global / built-in functions via...

    Re: Won't start

    Bob,

Most likely the wrong processorArchitecture setting in the (embedded) manifest file. For x64 it needs to be "amd64" and for 32 bit it needs to be "X86"

So for 64 bit check if it is:

  9. Re: Find & Replace in multiple files

    Russell,

I tried to duplicate this and I couldn't get it to fail. Can you check the settings of the search and replace? Maybe one of the settings causes the misbehavior you spotted.
  10. Re: ODBC Client errors in DF19.1 after DF20 install

    Jim,

This is kind of weird. DataFlex 19.1 and DataFlex 20.0 can harmless run side by side. Of course the MySQL Client ODBC driver from Oracle/MariaDb can cause the problems and since that is...
  11. Re: 19.1>20.0 Sortarray serious problem

    Salvadori,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Will log this for research.
  12. Re: Deleting multiple rows in a CJGrid

    Bengt,

I would get the datasource as you do in:

Get DataSource of hoDataSource to MyData
then delete the rows from this array and send a ReinitializeData.
  13. Re: Deleting multiple rows in a CJGrid

    Bengt,

The best way to find out is put a breakpoint on the

    Get DeleteSelectedRow to bOk
line and follow the action of the message.

Then you see that several checks are done before the...

    Re: Embedded SQL funny chars

    Jimmy,

For v20.0 / v20.1 you need an unicode driver as the DataFlex application is now unicode and expects unicode to be delivered to the ODBC_DRV or to DFBTRDRV.DLL. When the client driver is OK...

    Bengt,

I have pushed code into GIT to make a new build available. I hope a new build with example will be available in the next week

    Re: RemoteApp: IDLE not firing

    Raveen,

Does it only fail with RemoteApps?
  17. Re: Example workspace with complex UI example of

    Frank,

It is most likely possible and I will put it on the list.

    Re: RemoteApp: IDLE not firing

    Raveen,

The cIdleHandler works by looking at the message queue from Windows. If there are messages in the queue it will not fire. So it is not responding to the IDLE message from Windows.

You need to use the Graphics library and that is where it was developed for.

    Re: range is SC013

    Andrew,

As the others say it is a reserved word.

I've logged a ticket to see what can be improved at declaration level
  21. Re: DR 7 Pervasive.SQL DataFlex datasource?

    Per,

The right way is via ODBC.

INT file usage should be possible but there are a number of drawbacks and the most important one is speed.

    Re: Destroy or Destroy_Object

    Mike,

In CM DataFlex Destroy_Object was the only way to destroy an object. In a later version - after adding cObject - the Destroy_Object was declared as event and Destroy was added as message to...
  23. Re: My Web application displays strange letters

    Yasa,

I think that migration to DataFlex 2021 (v20) is the best choice.
