    Re: Updating running DataFlex applications

I use a method similar to Peter's. It takes a bit of time to plan and create the correct update processes, but well worth it. We have one app that about 170 agencies use equating to about 2500...

Re: Error: 4354. Dates are unconverted

Easily done, especially on an embedded database... I've seen users mistype 2019 as 219 (missed the 0), which when not validated will get saved in the embedded db.

If I did that, it would look like this: MyProgram1287367652889382372162.exe :)

Re: Error 5120: 404 File Not Found

It sounds like the program may be expecting to open the data (filelist.cfg) on a network share, which the service running the Webapp normally won't have access too.

    What is the DataPath ?

Re: Error: 4354. Dates are unconverted

I've run into something similar a long time ago.

I found that in some cases (usually in really old databases that have been around since DF2.3) I might have a date that literally only has 2 digits...

Re: List of servers in SQL Server

Is the SQL Browser service running on the Server?

Also, if on a LAN I think that port 1434 UDP and TCP needs to be open in the firewall for the browser service

    Sql encrypted connection

I was just asked about encrypting the connection between our Windows App and the SQL backend (not encrypting the database) so that anybody "sniffing" on the LAN would not be able to read the data...

Re: selected col has no selected row

Slight difference... Still get an error, but now I don't seem able to put my cursor into a row on the table, although it now highlights the top blank row as if it selected.

Yes, I did find Request_AppendRow worked fine for my purposes anyway. I thought about changing the PKG file so that instead of giving the error it would just append a row instead...

Re: selected col has no selected row

    PS..

If you "Send Activate" to the grid first, then Request_insertRow works but you end up with 2 lines instead of 1

Re: selected col has no selected row

    Hi Bob and Garret

Changing to Request_AppendRow works without error, but Request_InsertRow consistently gives an error if the cCJGrid has no data in it.... but works fine otherwise.

selected col has no selected row

    In DF19.1 using a cCJGrid.

If I send Request_InsertRow to the cCJGrid, it works properly ONLY if there are current records in the cCJGrid. If the cCJGrid is empty, this error pops up. I see...
