    Re: Server 2016 issues

I don't suppose that you have an antivirus running on the server, that is scanning your invoice tables every time you try to write to it?

    Re: filter function -true/false

"I want to Filter out (Suppress) this record" --> true don't print

false -> I do not want to filter it out, so print it.

Re: Copy to clipboard from Preview?

format the email address in the preview / report as a hyperlink, with a Mailtto:// ?

    Studio Error in Output Window

    12932

    DataEntryView32.bmp not found.

This is one of your bitmaps, and the Studio can't find it. It's not in, or supposed to be in, my workspace's local Bitmaps folder.

  11. Re: How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

    Thanks Martin.

Is there an easy (fast) test to confirm that the SQLConnect is still good? or is there an error I could / should trap to force a retry?

    MM.
  12. Re: How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

    thanks wil,

In this case the latency is <100 ms, usually around 90, but that is slow enough to show up the really poorly optimized parts of the app for sure.

    MM.
  13. Re: How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

Again, Iím not really trying to put a live system on AWS, having a test system thatís on the end of a skinny pipe is really just a good way to find places where there is room for optimization. ...
  14. Re: How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

In production the remote server will be on the same lan, so SHOULD be fast enough, I'm testing with AWS only for the purpose of demonstrating where the bottle necks are, I'm fairly sure its the...

  17. Re: How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

I'm not moving the app to the cloud, the customer is a big business with datacenters in every building, they don't want a local install of SQL express, they want the DB in the datacenter. Using AWS...

  19. How do I optimize for speed on a remote MSSQL server?

    Re: Dacta Dictionary conversion tool

19.0 to 19.1 can be done in parallel. YOu just need another SWS file in the workspace root.

The useful part is it will show you how many warnings you get, to see what kinds of things you'll need...

    Re: Dacta Dictionary conversion tool

you make a new v11.0 workspace, with only the DD and the data folders properly filled, and migrate that to v14 you don't need to necessarily migrate the whole app src.

    I'm fairly sure of these...
