  1. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

Thanks Stephen... Yes I agree. I wasn't expecting that workstation today to show no association. Obviously it would be great if we could reproduce it... but we can't, so just trying to gather...
  2. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

The computer that I changed on Thursday was ????? (sorry, I don't remember, if I get to connect with that computer again, I will try to find that out... It was some scripting tool that I hadn't...
  3. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

Just an update. At my customer's site, I changed the File Association for the Filelist.cfg to Notepad.exe on one of the computers, but none others. The computer that I changed this on stopped...

    Re: Popup_Modal from .pkg file

    Hi Kyle

One of the ways to handle it is to create a global Handle in the oApplication

    For example:

    Object oApplication is a cApplication
    //Set WorkspaceName to CURRENT$WORKSPACE
  5. Re: open file under cursor/ select word under cursor

We have about 160 sites adding up to about 2000 users which caused me to get hundreds of calls saying, "the spell check is broken" LOL. I even did a video for the, but they just couldn't share it...
  6. Re: open file under cursor/ select word under cursor

    Hi Bob

Yes... I had that code, but maybe you tweaked it a bit after... but anyway, with a couple of additional tweaks, I have it working exactly how I want it to:

The code that I had originally...
  7. Re: open file under cursor/ select word under cursor

I currently use Polar Spellcheck (and have for about 10 years)... For the most part it is pretty darn good, but has a couple of quirks that have become annoying to me. Zero support is one of them. ...
  8. Re: open file under cursor/ select word under cursor

    hi Bob

Yes I see that, but it grabs the word from where the carat of the cursor is positioned in the line. But if the user right clicks using the mouse on another word, it doesn't find the word...
  9. open file under cursor/ select word under cursor

Inside a cTextEdit, is there a way to select the word under the mouse cursor (NOT necessarily where the carat is flashing). This is done all of the time in the studio, so I am trying to figure out...

    Wouldn't it be nice....

if there was a way to debug a program running at a client's site. DAW, could you consider adding this function? Imagine being able to troubleshoot something at a clients site because we simply...

    Re: Crossed data

DDs have always been mysterious to me and I avoid them in anything other than a simple single db save. If it were me, this would be enough to rewrite that view in a non-DD view... (not much of an...
  13. Re: Upgrade to List & Label 24 and spaces in Variables/Fields

    True Dat.

My was totally an error because I know not to use spaces in variables and fieldnames but the prior versions didn't complain. Anyway all is fixed now.
  14. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    LOL Garret
  15. Upgrade to List & Label 24 and spaces in Variables/Fields

So yesterday, I upgraded one of my customers from List & Label 20 to List & Label 24. As always, the update was really easy thanks to all of the work that Bernhard does creating the PKG file for DF....
  16. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    Thanks Nils...

I don't have Windows 2019 to even test with. It has been suggested by some that this may have been happening as early as 2018 (ie pre-Windows 2019)... but for my experience it is...
  17. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

Thanks Andrew... Sorry about the name confusion :o
  18. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    Question for you Peter

In your post, you mentioned that changing the file association for .CFG worked at that one client. Does that seem to provide a suitable workaround?

    Mike
  19. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    Thanks Peter..

That is really interesting. We have about 180 customer sites and this is the only one that we had report this behavior and it started right after installing Windows 2019, but they...
  20. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

Thinking further on this... Isn't all REREAD... UNLOCK blocks handled by the Filelist.cfg?
  21. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    Thanks for you input Nils.

Where we are seeing it is in an application that has run for many years (from DF3.2 through to DF19.0) at this site. It has been DF19.0 for about 18 mths now and 2...
  22. Re: "DF_FILE_ROOT_NAME" or "DF_FILE_LOGICAL_NAME"

    Thanks Stephen

I seems weird that it would work for awhile and then stop working while the program is still open because that would mean (or should mean) that the client still has the Filelist.cfg...

So the results of my Debug are in. When the program starts, the debug process records this:
