    Or something far less "exotic" that is just not in the 1252 codepage e.g. left and right 'handed' double quotes or some of the many variation's of dashes and hyphens

    Is what is feeding ToWords a pure number field or the result of another function ? I suspect there is something in your data that means it is fed a non numeric value

    No, I think he is telling you the conditions under which the cch will be rebuilt

    I assume it the last one catching you out as you probably have different driver versions on different servers

    I would guess probably would if the cch stores the collation details. You could make a reasonable argument the databases are not of the same structure with different collating sequences
