DR Reports should have come with a "Flashing StatusPanel may cause epileptic seizures" warning
Hi DAW,
I suggest that on Initializing the report and pbShowStatusPanel=True then a warning message be displayed for users saying: "Flashing StatusPanel may cause epileptic seizures - look away now"
OK, Seriously...
The DRStatusPanel flashes at least 3-5 times while printing a report.. why?
Activation / deactivation

OpenReport: StatusPanel loaded saying "Loading report please wait" then immediately deactivates
RefreshReport: StatusPanel activate again, and displays "Reading Records" and then deactivates
DisplayReport: StatusPanel activate again, and displays "Formatting Pages" or "Printing..." and then deactivates
--OR- PrintReport: StatusPanel activate again, and displays "Printing..." and then deactivates
Actual suggestion:
Why not just leave it displayed while the report runs and only deactivate it once at the "end" ?
This is not merely a cosmetic change request, but the rapid activation/deactivation tends to have weird outcomes if the application is run as an remoteapp. We have found instances where the statuspanel is 'stuck' although the deactivate message had been sent.
Thanks.

Raveen,
The behaviour is by design...
For example; If it wouldn't close after opening report has finished the printdialog cannot appear correctly.
Re: DR Reports should have come with a "Flashing StatusPanel may cause epileptic seizures" warning
The users do eventually learn to look away, after they complain & I say it's "the nature of the beast". On a 600 page report it flashes a great deal.
If it can't be changed, it would help if we could reduce the size of the DR logo & the 36 point font.

Garret,
It can certainly be changed.
Just turn off the statuspanel or replace it with your own version, that is how it was designed.

I stopped using that status panel and replaced it with a GIF.

Hi Vincent,
We are using a custom StatusPanel but the activation/deactivation of the statuspanel is controlled by the base class (cDRReport) - there are 7 instances of it.
IMHO, the printdialog should have been the exception where you deactivate the statuspanel and reactivate it after, otherwise it should be activate during the printing process.
