Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
Hello!
Is there a step-by-step documentation about to migrate from VRW 3.0 to DF 4.0 using DataFlex 18.0?
I'm trying to migrate but the old class name does not exist anymore.
Do I need to find & replace all old names in my code?
Regards,
Ivan Kaupa
Re: Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
Hi Ivan,
I just did that today and I too found no documentation on what to do. I ended up with removing the 3.0 library and replacing it with the new 4.0 and then searched & replaced all "VRW" strings with "DR", one by one. Only took about 15 minutes.
Hope this helps.

Re: Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
Hi,
I have found "Whats New" but I found no step by step documentation.
I know, that I have read it some time ago, But I know where.
All what I found and also a good place :
"DataFlex Reports 2014 Developer Edition Readme.pdf" - nothing
"DataFlex Reports 2014 Developer Guide.pdf" - nothing
"DataFlex Reports 2014 User Guide.pdf" - nothing
"DataFlex_Reports_2014_Developer_Edition.chm" -nothing
"WhatsNew.chm" - nothing
Maybe I must also look inside my garage?
Re: Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
All,
OOPS! This information was in the readme up to the release candidate. We will include it again a 4.0.1 release. The information is as follows:
All classes, constants and files in the DataFlex Reports integration – included in this update – have been renamed as part of the rebranding of the DataFlex Reports product. For existing DataFlex Reports 3.0 applications create a backup of your existing project(s) and take the following steps to update to the 4.0.1 library: Remove the existing DataFlex Reports library and add the DataFlex Reports 4.0.1 library to your workspace (this may require you to start the DataFlex Studio with administrator rights).

Re: Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
THe first step 4 is a bit redundant, since if you don't check the "Match Case" box, then step one will already have done this...
Re: Migrating from VRW 3.0 to DR 4.0
Also, restart the Studio with elevated Administrator rights, before you add the DR 4.0 Library.
