I have an app (last written in DF19.0) which I am updating to DF25.0 and also want it to work with and store the data in UNICODE.

The database is in MSSQL 2019.

Not to hard but opening a pretty simple view take 1m22s, that is patience work. Filling the cdbCJgrid goes faster but slow compared to a native hosted server. Yes it is from the Caribbean to a server in Europe. And yes for sure we do not have here the same connection speed as one is used to living in Netherlands or big city where fiber is the standard.

Here a whole office is maybe having the same bandwidth as I have for myself. And I do not watch tiktok stuff.....

It is not my data so reading it read_only and no changes allowed to the database.
All relationships in the ddo are define in the view it self
I need for displaying the information in a logical way so I need a clients side index.
Displaying the data is ok, but the wait to open just a view with no records displayed takes just long.

Simple do not use an SQL database over a VPN to a remote server.

But any idea how it can be faster. Use RDC but doubt if that will be possible.,
