DF25, SQL Express 2025

I'm trying to create a connection to it - using Windows Auth. on a customer's server. I can get to the point of choosing a DB, but none are listed. Tried typing in the DB name, but then get a "Cannot write to ini file" error.

Creating one for SQL Express 2014 creates one just fine & lists the DBs.

Is it a SQL 2025 issue? Maybe rights on SQL Server?

TIA

I'm doing some initial testing with SQLite from DataFlex 26 for a possible new application.

SQLite is connected through ODBC_DRV using a 64-bit SQLite3 ODBC driver and a DataFlex Connection ID of SQLLite.

Normal DataFlex table access is working correctly. I can open the SQLite Person table, use a DataDictionary, find records and display/update them normally.

However, I can't get cSQLExecutor to return any rows.

The executor is defined as:

Code:

Use cSQLExecutor.pkg

Object oSQLExecutor is a cSQLExecutor
    Set psConnectionId to "SQLLite"
End_Object

For example:

Code:

String[][] aData

Get SQLExecDirect of oSQLExecutor "SELECT * FROM Person" to aData

Showln "Rows:" (SizeOfArray(aData))
Showln "SQL State:" (psSQLState(oSQLExecutor))
Showln "SQL Message:" (psSQLMessage(oSQLExecutor))

This returns:

Code:

Rows: 0
SQL State:
SQL Message:

I also tried a very simple query:

Code:

SELECT 123 AS TestValue

with the same result - zero rows and no SQL error/message.

As a comparison, the traditional DataFlex CLI interface against the same open Person table works correctly:

Code:

Procedure TestSQLite
    Handle hoSQLManager hdbc hstmt
    Integer iFetch
    String sLastName

    Get Create (RefClass(cSQLHandleManager)) to hoSQLManager

Get SQLFileConnect of hoSQLManager (RefTable(Person)) to hdbc
Get SQLOpen of hdbc to hstmt

Send SQLExecDirect of hstmt "SELECT LastName FROM Person"

    Repeat
Get SQLFetch of hstmt to iFetch

        If (iFetch <> 0) Begin
Get SQLColumnValue of hstmt 1 to sLastName
            Showln "CLI row:" sLastName
        End
    Until (iFetch = 0)

    Send SQLClose of hstmt
    Send SQLDisconnect of hdbc
    Send Destroy of hoSQLManager
End_Procedure

That returns the expected Person records.

So at this point I have:

Code:

Normal DataFlex table/DD access Working
Traditional CLI SQL access Working
cSQLExecutor SQLExecDirect Returns no rows
cSQLExecutor SQL error/message None

Has anyone used cSQLExecutor successfully with SQLite via ODBC_DRV?

I'm particularly interested in whether cSQLExecutor has requirements or limitations that differ from
the traditional CLI interface when using a third-party ODBC driver, or whether there is something else required in the connection configuration.

DataFlex 26, 64-bit SQLite ODBC driver.
