Local Library Nicety

I may have missed this in the documentation, but I just discovered that if a local package/library contains a README.txt,
Package Manager displays its contents in the Description tab.

I tested by renaming/removing the file and the description disappeared, so it definitely appears to be tied to README.txt.

Is this documented anywhere?
If not, it might be worth mentioning, as it makes README.txt quite useful for local packages.

Can I change the "Highlight all occurrances" colors?

I'm working on moving code into DF 2026 and it seems like the new "highlight all occurrences" will be very helpful. But is there a way to change the colors it uses? After I got my color pallet imported from previous versions, I end up with blue on blue on blue for the highlights (See attached image). I'd like to change it, maybe to white on black to really stand out. Going through everything in the "Configure Editor" list, I don't see anything that jumps out at me, so am I just being blind or is it missing from in there?

Web UI Missing

Ok, got my preview design working.

Library 'DataFlex_dev_Web_UI-1.0.52' is a local library and therefore its HTML includes are ignored.
Library 'Dataflex_dev_Web_UI_Material_Theme-1.0.4' is a local library and therefore its HTML includes are ignored.

I am assuming this is just a limitation of local libraries.

Package Manager

Is there or will there be ever an option to see grid size or list view of the pkgs?

PS. It would also be useful if the category/filter panel on the left remained fixed
while scrolling through the packages.
At present it scrolls off screen with the package list.

.src file does not exist

Just tried to scan for Icons and got:

In case it isn't obvious, the file "FlexQuery.src" does exist (and has been saved) but the "Cannot create load file" error says it does not. Shum mishtake shurly.

Unable to Migrate DF25 Workspace Cleanly to DF26

Hi DAW,

Was the Windows workspace migration side of DF26 fully tested?

I took a standalone DF25 workspace and migrated/opened it in DF26 and immediately ran into the following issues:

Workspace Description is changed

The workspace Description from the DF25 .ws file is not retained. Instead, DF26 changes the description to the .sws filename.

Duplicate Project Names in Project Listing

The Project Listing now shows duplicate project names due to some projects being marked as testProject=True
These projects were not duplicated in DF25.

Unable to regenerate the project .cfg by scanning for bitmaps/icons

From Project Properties, clicking the option to scan for bitmaps/icons fails with an error similar to:Source file: xxx.src does not exist
The .src file does exist and project otherwise opens normally.
I can also reproduce this using the standard Order Entry workspace, so this does not appear to be specific to my workspace.

At this point, migrating an existing DF25 Windows workspace to DF26 does not appear to be clean or reliable.

Can you please confirm whether these are known issues with the DF25 → DF26 workspace migration?

Creating and Publishing Packages

RefTableEx - Returning a folded integer

Hi there,

I've been searching for the code for the REFTABLE Function to no avail!

I'm looking for a way to have a global function return the file - field values in a folded integer!

i.e.

Code:

Integer iFileField iFile iField

String sValue



Move (RefTableEx(Order.ID)) to iFileField



// Then i could do:

Move (Hi(iFileField)) to iFile

Move (Low(iFileField)) to iField



// Or even, if the procedures set File_Field.... was subclassed to unfold the value



Set File_Field_Current_Value (RefTableEx(Order.ID)) to "any value"



// Or even better



MOVE (File_Field_Current_Value(RefTableEx(Order.ID))) to sValue

Any in here who as any idea how to get this done?

Btw

Should we use Reftable in the dd's instead of the FIELD and FILE_FIELD parameter? Or is FIELD/FILE_FIELD still the preferable way to do it?

Difficulty with Web and FlexTron in same workspace

I have been grappling with this problem for a couple of days, not being able to work out why it was I was being so stupid, however today I started with an empty slate and reproduced the problem from scratch (twice).

First create a new workspace. Next add a new project: Web - Foundation Data Dense screen. Nothing else, just compile and run. Works fine, an empty WebApp appears in the browser. Close the browser tab and stop the debugger.

Next create a new project: Windows - FlexTron. Nothing else, just compile and run. Compiles OK, and runs, but only appears as an empty window with just a title bar and a vertical scroll bar:

I've been through this at least 5 times now. Sometimes I create the FlexTron app first - which works OK - and then the WebApp, which in turn gives me an empty browser tab. Here it is with the Dev Tools "Elements" tab opened below it:

I dunno what is going on here, but I've been banging my head on it for too long and need some help. Something obviously isn't right. :(

Am I just being stupid? Getting senile?

I could post the workspace, but if you follow the steps above you should already have it.

Studio Project List tolerates duplicate entries

Doesn't seem to do any harm but why wouldn't it tidy them up, and rewrite in alpha order?

(Merged two sws project lists and didn't catch that some were out of sequence)

Weird display of DDO Explorer with Dark Theme

Using the Studio in Dark mode the text is not displayed correctly in the DDO Explorer.
In DF 25 it is correct.

DF26 Precompiles

Forgot I never reported this:

My precompiles fail unless I do them in the studio. Syntax as suggested by the AI. Both pkg are in the current folder and a full path to the packages gave the same result

Importing Workspace

Just imported a 25.0 Workspace and when I compile my WebApp.src the compiler cannot find: Use AllWebUIServerClasses.pkg.
