Please visit my website for a free Visual DataFlex 12 fully featured
Personal Rolodex which I am developing for promotion of VDF 12 Personal
Edition.

I invite you to take advantage of free shipping on CD with an install script
that won't conflict with any of your applications in VDF 12 so that you can
both benefit from using the Personal Rolodex and suggest or submit code to
improve the final release aimed at the general public with no knowledge of
VDF.

See: [Free Rolodex] and simply sign up for the shipping.

Hi Peter

I also had the idea that we must develop some personal free software to
distribute freely so people get aware of VDF. I will take a look at your
Rolodex and maybe translate it to spanish.

Best regards
Peter

Please consider this open source and you are most welcome to do so!

I would especially like to contact NEW companies just opening but am having
a hard time finding a source that lists DBA certificates issued. Any
strategy that you come up with please share!

PS: International Users: PLEASE REINDEX so that your sorting sequence goes
thru collating because this is a USA/Engish based entry.

Thanks to all for their inquiries and downloads.

One legal notice about this software!
It was pointed out that there is a www.Rolodex.Com that holds a trademark on
the word rolodex.

If you were going to give this application to any of your character based
customers to lead them into VDF, I would rename the final product to
something like "CRM" or contact management system prior to charging for it
to hook it into their current application system, or using it under a
business license.

My next release will not use the word "Rolodex" based on this new finding.

As of Sunday Nite, I have had numerous requests from all over the globe:
Israel, Jordan, Netherlands, Russia, Venezuela, etc and I invite everyone to
jump "of" the bandwagon and try out this application: It has a number of
interesting features and is usable right out of the box.

Hope you Enjoy!

Hi Peter,

Just wondering why you don't have a download option for it ?

I would imagine the zipped up workspace would be fairly small without
the .exe file !

cheers, Dave Porter

Hi Dave, Cheers:

Yes, it's a download file with embedded video help. Simply fill out the
request form and I'll email you a download FTP site with password for you to
get.

Regards,
Peter
PS: I've just released BETA 2 without references to Applause in it so that
others can use it out of the box without "advertisements" of my firm.
Within 12 hours there should be a beta 2 upgrade also with more video help.

To All who have downloaded the roloflex:

There is a bug where when you are in the child dbgrids and use clear all,
the focus does not return to the top form. Please see the VDF newsgroup as
of a minute ago for the solution to this bug.

Thanks.

Solution: Move 3 non-focusable objects below the first focusable object.

REQUEST for help please:

I am by trade a Crystal guy, but I need to program a "print lead card"
button on the RoloFlex in WinPrint II and find it to be daunting.

Would anyone consider helping in this regard?
Right now there's just a button that does nothing to print the RoloFlex
entry.
My first report shows how to print richedit text in WinPrint II so you can
please use that as a guideline.

Hi Larry,

At Moose Software we have been translating the error codes for VDF,
classes fro VDF, creating the df_collate.cfg for VDF, translating
VDFQuery for Spanish, etc for quite a while. The reason for doing this
is that, we as partners of DAW for Spain and Portugal, must have as much
of VDF in the local language as possible. As such if we can be of any
help let us know.

As for the Orders translation we do not have it translated but we could
do it depending of what you need and thus the time it would take.

If you are interested you may contact me via this newsgroup or via e-mail.

Regards

Pepe

Pedro,

I wrote a set of classes after DISD last year for creating
multi-lingual applications. This differs from an international
version of an application where the underlying data and validations
may be different.

An example would be a sales order entry where the workers' native
language may be English, Spanish, or French all entering data into the
same database, with maybe a French supervisor. Change all the labels
and prompts from language to language by pressing a button without
leaving the underlying screen, or even having to clear data already
entered. Lookup lists... everything in the entire application is
changed. The current settings are saved by user in the registry.

The labels themselves can be changed to different styles:
lowercase
UPPERCASE
First character caps
Title Labels

and an option to have colons or not... all dynamically. This is
really handy for converting CM code to VDF... but that is another
program<g>

The classes can also act like WebApp and get the label information
from the DD classes at runtime. I have not tried the classes with the
new AJAX web libraries, but they should work.

Larry,

Interesting. I wrote some routines with the same objective, reading and
parsing source files looking for "labels" and changing labels according to a
translation database. It worked pretty well and fast, but the user has to
restart the program to change languages.

It seems like your classes will be a key tool for international web
applications.

If you can email me what do you need, I can collaborate.

Regards
Peter

Sergey,

Can I have a copy of the .vw and .dd files? Does the display require
any special Windows settings for the special language characters?

Note: Previous Downloads AFTER the conversion of the name to ROLOFLEX are
missing the LETTERS folder underneath the main roloflex folder.

This made the "send letter" button not work.
Here is the folder so you don't have to download again if you don't want to,
however there are improvements in RoloFlex Build2 that are noteworthy also.

See site for download FTP and user/login names.
Thanks for your patience,

Great product.
I would like to donate a small enhancement - a Reminder screen - that has an
icon on the tool bar and pops up automatically if there are any reminders.
I'll send it to Peter D.
Some comments/testing: The toolbar needs a Save/No clear button. Move the
delete away from the Save button. My personal opinion only!
The picture did not display for me when I selected one?
The lists are not resizeable.
The calandar popup did not display correctly on the screen, perhaps use the
windows calandar?
Print Callback button had an error.
In the Call history just wondering if the initials is enough to relate back
to the rep in the main screen?

Happy to help out in the future - not at the moment.

Hi Peter,

Does this new licensing mean that you might consider to upgrade your
Membership software to VDF 12?

Cheers,
Marco

Thanks for the comments Peter:
When I migrated over from "rolodex" to "RoloFlex" I lost the report which I
subsequently replaced in the "now" version and also the letter writing
capability.

I like your popup reminder idea and will probably do something along those
lines for release 3.

Everyone please consider this an open opportunity to add your flavor
RoloFlex or add-on which would probably get mentioned in enews also.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your input, here are some responses:

[pad] All the classes are set up so there is no clear after a save.

Move the
> delete away from the Save button. My personal opinion only!

> The picture did not display for me when I selected one?

[pad] Please re-select the picture and that will fix that.

> The lists are not resizeable.

[pad] yes, this is design on purpose.
> The calandar popup did not display correctly on the screen, perhaps use
> the windows calandar?

[pad] I had not used VDFQuery 2.4 yet, so that's probably the reason. I
prefer VDFQuery.

> Print Callback button had an error.

>

[pad] This allows you to delete a rep without the "related records exist
cannot delete" error, but easy to relate manually to the correct rep. This
is design preference on purpose.
