Well its all over till next year.
The Australian DataFlex Developers and Users Group has just concluded its
annual conference event in Sydney.
Three days of presentations, discusions, and exchange of ideas, as well as
some social get-togethers.
Many thanks to Doug Golder for making the long journey from Miami to
represent DAW, and for giving the group an early insight into project
Horizon (if you dont know what that is, you should have been there !). Doug
also ran some pre-conference training and shared his vast knowledge of all
aspects of DataFlex with us, and took back many questions, requests and
issues that will be tabled in Miami upon his return.
Also thanks to Mertech for sending down Gandalf Hernandez who also ran a
well-attended and very informative pre-conference training session on SQL,
and also presented a session on SQL variants and drivers, etc. Gandalf was
also able to visit his grandmother, who lives just outside Melbourne (he
lives in New York). Its a small world !
The event was a huge success, and planning is already underway for next
years event. I hear New Zealand is a contender for the venue. So to all
the overseas folks who have always wanted to get down our way, keep in touch
via this newsgroup, or the DDUG website (www.ddug.org).
