Soon-to-be-hurricane Ian is on it’s way. Should be only cat 1 here, overnight, but cat 4 between Cuba and Florida. So batten your hatches, stock up your wine cellars, commit your code, and update the bugtracker.

stay safe.

little damage here as it wobbled away from us. It's likely to give Tampa a seeing-to though

Some friends of mine who live just South of Tampa were ordered to evacuate but they're near a large river so it makes sense given the potential storm surge. They just moved there from CT and might now be questioning that decision... :D

:p

I have a friend who moved from Miami to St. Pete last year. But he's lived in Florida for 50 years and made it through Andrew when many of us did, so he has experience on how to stay safe and take it seriously.

I'm glad you are OK, Dave. We are preparing for its arrival tonight/tomorrow morning and already started feeling that it is getting closer...

Good luck everyone in the hurricane area.
Hope the damage is not going to be too bad.

The west coast took a real beating. Have to wait until the morning to see how bad it really was, but it won't be pretty. Onward!

My friends dodged a bullet, even though they live near the Manatee river in Bradenton, they weren't flooded, have power and the car they left behind is ok. Others weren't so lucky...
