The 2005 Corroboree is on the way and it’s time to make your booking!
This year the Corroboree will be held at the breathtaking Rydges
Capricorn Resort in Yeppoon Queensland. The resort offer a host of
features which make in not only an ideal conference venue, but also a
great holiday location, and DDUG members are encouraged to take
advantage of the resort, and special accommodation packages offered to
conference attendees. Booking forms are available on the DDUG Website
(http://www.ddug.org), where you can also find who to send the form and
money to.

The earlybird cut-off date is the 31st of January, and if you book
before this date the cost of the conference is $275. After this date
prices will rise to $325 per attendee. Accommodation at the Resort can
book out in advance, so it is important if you are going to attend the
Corroboree that you book ASAP. Special Rates are on offer to Corroboree
attendees so make sure you mention this when making your booking. Any
members, who are interested in sharing with other members at the
Corroboree, please contact one of the board members before the 31st of
January and we’ll put you in touch with any other interested parties.

The agenda for the Corroboree can be found on the DDUG website
(http://www.ddug.org ) and includes the following highlights:

* Riaz Merchant from Mertech Data, USA will be presenting the
connectivity from VDF to a variety of data sources including MySQL.

The DDUG Board in conjunction with Data Access Europe and Asia Pacific,
and Mertech Data are pleased to announce that the following sessions
will be held prior to the conference:

* Riaz Merchant from Mertech Data will run a half day hands-on training
session covering MSSQL, MySQL and more!

Session, where members are invited to bring in their problems and have
them solved by an expert.

Corroboree attendees who register before the earlybird cut-off date will
be eligible for free passes to these events! These sessions are
normally valued at $150 each! Make sure you get in early as places in
these sessions are strictly limited and are offered on a first in first
served basis.

Vincent has also indicated that he is prepared to offer his time for
some official Data Access training sessions before (Monday and Tuesday)
and/or after (Sunday and Monday) the conference. These will be held on
demand, and will cost $199 per day, so let one of the board members know
if you’re interested in attending one of these events. Possible
subjects for these training sessions include Web Services, Data
Dictionaries, Classes/Wizards, FlexCOM and XML. Please fill out the
survey at the following address
(http://www.ddug.org/corroboree/cor2005/trainingsurvey.php ) before the
earlybird training date (31st of January) if you are interested in
attending. Courses such as these are rare and the board are happy to
offer them at well below the market value! Again, places are limited in
these events so get you requests in early.
