Hi All,

Today I got an email from CodeJock (and yes, it was an email address from the codejock domain)

However, I got suspicious as it lacked a Subject and the message said the sender was out of office(!).

And there was also a .doc attachment to it...

This ringed all my alarm bells, but then again it did came from the codejock domain.

So I contacted them and - as you probably suspected - it was a FALSE email message and was never send from their server. Instead the address was one that got hijacked some time ago.

CodeJock are looking into the issue to see what they can do about it from happening again. In the meantime be aware!

Of course I never opened the attachment and have since deleted the message.

Of course I never opened the attachment and have since deleted the message.

Why ?
don't you like a bit of emotion ?
don't you trust your AV software ?

for real now...

Thanks for reporting it..

"None of the above"!

As the email came from CodeJock and my CodeJock email address was used to send the phishing attempt to, I thought that - even if just a dim chance - that the perpetrator may had got hold of a mailing list from CodeJock.

Hence, my attempt to try to warn my fellow newsgroup friends. But as nobody else seems to have been hit, we might want to call this item "closed", as Wil expressed it.

Thanks Nils, always good to know on what to keep an eye open for.
We're all human and a small moment of not paying attention can be sufficient to fall for something like this.

The report and call for attention is much appreciated.
