Was thinking of posting this in the database forum. But maybe it's better here.

Since the embedded database is built on B-trees. This is a single page with a good explanation on the why's and how it works.

remember before starting with DF i had my own b tree in microsoft basic, then quickbasic, then found a product called Fabs and then DF

I did the same in Basic. Then briefly looked at using DBase with Basic before finding DataFlex.

Put me down as a proud member of the DIY B-Tree club. In Mallard BASIC. I probably still have that code floating around somewhere.

#edit - found it. I used Pascal.
